How Dark Sonic could've worked in Sonic Prime Season 3

Shattering Apart

(Starts after Sonic and Shadow jump down to solid ground from the mountain.)

Sonic and Shadow looked up, and saw the mountain decaying.

"Sonic, are you alright?" Shadow asked, looking over to him.

"I don't know what's going on with me. It's like my energy was drained after I went dark back in the mountain." Sonic replied. "I can't seem to gain my speed well. And we need to get out of here before there's nothing left!"

"Don't worry. I'll help you!" Shadow said, as he rushed off not forgetting to help Sonic out.

Sonic and Shadow rushed off to try to gain the speed they need to leave the gateway and get to safety, but Sonic can't seem to reach it with his exhaustion kicking in fast again.

"Ugh! I can't get enough speed!" Sonic panted. "Man, this must be how it feels to get exhausted."

Shadow helped Sonic get to the pass to try and work up his speed again, but that was decaying too. Both hedgehogs jumped off, and back to the ground.

"Sonic, are you okay?" Shadow asked, looking over to him. "Sonic?"

Sonic was looking over at his friends who were still stuck in a loop. He wished that he could save them somehow. But since Nine took the shards, it's like their fate is sealed.

"I'm not leaving without the others!" Sonic said, feeling like he's gonna cry.

"Sonic, our home is falling apart! There's no time. We need to get out of here!" Shadow said, trying to make Sonic snap out of it.

"I'm not leaving them!" Sonic choked, as his voice cracked.

He walked over to his friends who were still stuck in their loop, but by the time he was about to reach them, they began to decay. He fell to his knees, and began to cry.

"No... No! Tails! Knuckles! Rouge! AMY!!!" Sonic cried, as his hot tears fell like a waterfall. "NOOO!!!"

Shadow felt guilty that their friends were gone.

"Sonic, get a hold of yourself! We have to go! Now!" Shadow said, in concern.

He then gasped in fear as Sonic stood up in his dark form yet again. Sonic was still crying, as his fur turned black and his eyes went solid white again.

"Nine... How could you do this to me?!" Sonic snarled, in anger. "I almost got my home back... and this is how you repay me?! By destroying my home... and killing my friends... I'M GONNA KILL YOU FOR THIS!!!"

"Sonic, get a hold of yourself!" Shadow said, worried.

Sonic turned to Shadow still in his dark state.

"Shut up!" Sonic grabbed Shadow by his throat.

"Aghh! Sonic... Please..." Shadow choked.

"You're not worth the time to kill..." Sonic let Shadow go. "But we'd better go before we end up dying along with them..."

Shadow panted heavily, placing his right hand on his neck where Sonic choked him. The dark blue gripped his free hand, about to do something.

"What are you doing?" Shadow asked, concerned if Sonic was going to finish him off.

"Getting us out of here..." Sonic responded, as he swung Shadow around like a hammer throw.

Sonic threw Shadow up at one of the cracks in the sky, while he screamed a little in fear.

"Typical. Want to get out of this place? Leave it to the one who destroyed our reality to fix it!" Sonic snarled, and flew off after Shadow.

Sonic and Shadow continued their rush towards one of the cracks in the sky to get out of Ghost Hill. Just as the gateway was about to collapse, but the hedgehogs managed to escape just in time.
