How Dark Sonic could've worked in Sonic Prime Season 3

Grim Tidings and Dark Times!

(Begins after Sonic and Shadow entered the Grim gateway.)

Sonic and Shadow landed to the ground. They have arrived in the Grim. Nine's soon to be dystopia.

"Whoa. So that's what he's doing with all the prism's energy." Sonic said, in shock.

The two hedgehogs approached the fortress Nine was building. Sonic kept his right hand on his left arm, still trying to pressure down the pain. Nine looked out to see that Sonic and Shadow have arrived at his dystopia.

"That's far enough." Nine called out to the hedgehogs.

Sonic and Shadow stopped in their tracks, and looked up at the traitorous fox.

"There he is." Shadow said.

"Nine, what are you doing? We had a plan." Sonic called out.

"That was your plan. It was never mine." Nine said.

"So it was always about power." Shadow said.

"Typical." Sonic snarled.

"Exactly." Nine responded. "With the Paradox Prism, I'll be able to turn this world into a paradise... my paradise!"

Nine fired his mechanical tails more energy at the prism to reactivate the dome above.

"Let's destroy this traitor." Shadow said, ready to fight.

"Wait. Maybe I can reason with him. It was my fault that he went rogue." Sonic said. "And if that doesn't work-"

"Then he's mine." Shadow said.

"No. He's ours." Sonic said, letting go of his arm.

Sonic slowly walked forward, to attempt to talk Nine out of this.

"This isn't you, Nine. We were supposed to be friends. Look, before you went out on me like that, I was going to say that we can find a way to bring back my home and stabilize the Shatterspaces to co-exist, together!" Sonic explained, but Nine didn't want to believe him.

"You were only using me to get what you wanted!" Nine said.

"That's not true. I was so focused on trying to get my home back I forgot about what you wanted. Shadow told me that you and other distorted versions of our friends are nothing like them. And he was right." Sonic admitted, in defeat. "Look... with what you're doing is gonna destroy the Shatterverse. My home is already gone. My friends are dead. And I've tried to be nice and work things out, but now I'll give you one last chance. Stop all of this madness, and give Shadow and I back the prism so we can bring our home back!"

"Sorry old friend. I've already told you you're never getting your home back!" Nine said, which made Sonic snarl in anger. "And besides, you've been replaced."

"What you mean by replaced?" Sonic asked.

"You'll see..." Nine walked off, and a rebuilt Chaos Metal Sonic jumped out in his place.

"Whoa. Who or what is that?" Sonic said, in shock.

"It's you." Shadow replied, standing next to Sonic.

"Looks like Nine didn't hesitate to rebuild Metal Sonic." Sonic said. "But with the color scheme he gave this one, it kinda looks like you."

"Whatever robotic counterpart version of us it is, it's in our way." Shadow said.

"Not for long." Sonic said.

Metal Sonic jumped down to Sonic and Shadow's level and rushed towards them at full speed. The hedgehogs were knocked back a little, before regaining their balance.
