How Dark Sonic could've worked in Sonic Prime Season 3

The Devil is in the Tails

(Continues off as Sonic fakes falling to the ground.)

Sonic fake yelled making it seem to Nine he's falling.

"Splat." Sonic said, before going dark again.

Sonic charged at Nine, and unleashed another barrage of punches to him. Nine fired, which made Sonic have to shield himself, while firing a repelled blast. Nine was starting to get tired. He stopped firing and fell down. Sonic tripped, and tumbled. He chuckled evilly a little.

"You're looking pretty tired, aren't 'cha?" Sonic said, evilly. "Sure you're not ready to give up?"

Sonic didn't realize his dark powers were slowly taking control of him more with each use.

"Give up? I can't." Nine said, before regaining control for a moment. "Sonic, you look like you're losing your mind. You've gotten a whole lot worse."

Sonic got confused, before looking out to his hands before he felt his body shake.

"You're right. What am I doing?!" Sonic said, starting to panic.

Sonic reverted back to normal, but clutched his chest. The process continued a little more down his legs and arm, and a little on his muzzle.

"I think these dark powers are making me crazy." Sonic said, scared of what he might become. "This was another reason why I hated using them."

"Then you better make the last uses of those powers count." Nine said, before losing control again.

Sonic went dark again, nodding to what Nine told him.

"Quiet in there." Nine muttered to himself. "You're the one who put me in this position."

"It's you who put me and the others in this situation! You should've let me go home when you had the chance!" Sonic snarled. "And I'm gonna enjoy tearing you apart. You're going to watch everything you've built of your dystopia disappear. And then... it's your turn!"

Sonic fired a Chaos Lance beam at Nine, nearly knocking out another one of Nine's mechanical tails. Nine yelped in fear.

"That's it. No more playing around." Nine said, recharging his energy from the Citadel while screaming.

The Grim bots began to lose power, before shutting down completely for the moment. Rebel Rouge opened her eyes to see the Grim bots lost their power.

"Now!" Rebel Rouge said, as she and the others made their move.

Everyone took down the bots while they didn't have much power. Sonic turned to normal again, clutching his chest in pain.

"It worked. The plan worked!" Sonic said in triumph, before looking back to Nine.

Nine finished charging up, panting in exhaustion.

"Fully charged. Now you will feel the full force of my-" Nine was cut off, looking down to see Sonic's allies taking his army down.

Sonic went dark again, and attacked him. Nine repelled against Sonic's attack.

"You tricked me. Clever. But betrayal comes easy to you." Nine said. "How did you do it?"

"One, sneaky great plan. Two, 'cause they trusted me." Sonic explained. "You can't protect your world, fight me, and power your army."

Nine fired at full force, sending Sonic up with his platforms. He jumped away to fall back down, returning to normal again. Nine looked down in frustration to see that Sonic was right.

"No!" Nine said, frustrated.

"We did it!" Rebel Rouge said, as the others cheered in triumph.

Sonic smiled at them from above.
