After learning for long hours, Alison decided to take a well deserved break and lay down for a nap. Her dorm mates, as usual, had gone off to attend their extracurricular activities, something she still had to ponder over after her time with Anna yesterday. Thinking about yesterday made her think about Flynn. She'd seen him hanging out with Drew and she didn't appreciate the feeling that followed after spotting them together. She'd bumped into him in the library again today and as expected, he didn't acknowledge her presence. Strangely enough, the thought of him in her sleep caused her to make a low grumbling sound.
She opened her eyes in frustration for a few seconds and then shut them to attempt to sleep again. The gentle breeze from the open window caressed her face, creating a soothing atmosphere. The warmth of the sun peeking through the curtains added a sense of coziness to her side of the room. With a contented sigh, Alison drifted off into a peaceful slumber, her dreams filled with tranquility and relaxation where Flynn Hawkins could not interrupt. Time seemed to slow down as she embraced the blissful escape of sleep.
When Alison woke up, it was to the piercing sound of something ringing. It went on for several seconds and probably a minute until she forced herself out of bed with a groan and went to answer the telephone that hung on the wall by the door.
"Hello?" she mumbled.
There was a bit of shuffling and whispering from the other end of the line before someone spoke. "Give the phone to Alison Harold, please."
"I'm her."
"You have a visitor," the lady said. "Come to the lobby."
The word visitor drove away the remaining sleep in her eyes. She was now fully awake and filled with excitement as the first person that came to her mind was Mrs Stewart.
But it wasn't visiting day yet. Why was she here? Was everything okay? Was Cody okay? Did her mom finally do the unthinkable?
Her earlier excitement vanished and she quickly put on her sandal and threw a jacket over her shoulders. Her hair was messy and she knew her face was still swollen from her sleep but she didn't care. She cared about her visitor more.
She left her room, dashed through the long, narrow hallway and literally jumped down the stairs, nearly bumping into people and tripping. When she eventually got to the lobby, she was out of breath. She made her way to the reception desk and looked at the lady with wide eyes.
"Where is she?" Alison asked with panic.
The lady stared at her worriedly. "You mean he? Are you Alison?"
"Yes, I am," she replied impatiently. "You called earlier."
The lady gestured toward the direction of the lobby. "He's waiting for you."
He?
Alison swiveled around and scowled when she saw Jace sitting cross legged on the couch with a smoothie in hand, watching her so intently.
She approached him. "What do you think you're doing?"
Jace smirked. "Visiting my favorite person obviously."
"Don't you have better things to do?"
"That's what I'm doing now." He tilted his head slightly to one side as he studied her for a bit. "Did you just roll out of bed?"
"What do you think?" She snapped. "Find someone else to bug, Jace, I don't want to have anything to do with you." She turned to leave.
He caught up to her in a flash. "I got intel on Wendy."
Alison stared up at him. He knew how to pique her interest alright. "What is it?"
"Have you been to the cafe by the west wing?" He suddenly asked.
