Chapter Seventeen:

He wore his black tux with the lavender flowers flowing from his pen, his shoes tied in (again) a mess of a knot, his hair combed to perfection and his blue eyes looked brighter than usual. I heard the doorbell ring and before I could even attempt to get down there in my high heels, my dad already answered the door. Already moved him over to the couch, already giving his “little girl” pep talk to Tanner. I mouthed a sorry to him, moved to my dad and told him to just walk away and that I’d see him again later.

I collected my embarrassment and filed out of the house with Tanner by my side.

“Okay, hope you don’t get mad or something, but Liam made me pick up Taylor earlier.” He says motioning to the car.

“Taylor?” I ask him, beginning to see the small figure glaring into the window.

“I’m her escort.” He tells me, opening the back door to his Jeep.

“You get back.” He recited the seating arrangements allowing me to sigh and climb into the Jeep, staring at the blonde chick in the front seat. With her long fingernails and short dress that barely made it past her thighs, almost made me lose all hope in Liam and how he picks them.

“Hi, I’m Taylor.” She says, leaning backwards to grasp my hand in hers.

“Charlotte.” I say, rolling my eyes as I catch the flick in her eyes when she sees Tanner by her side.

“Great to meet ya.” She turns in her seat, whispering something in Tanner’s ear and then buckling her seat belt.

Oh yeah, great another preppy cheerleader who is just here to steal Tanner. I bet you just want to kill that chick! My thoughts tell me, making me chuckle to myself and returning the comment with another.

More than you freaking know.

“So how’d you guys meet?” I ask, wedging myself in the middle of the two, from the back seat; actually harder than it seems.

Tanner glances at me, bring his hand up to me and pushing me back, saying something about it not being safe.

Dude, I was the one in the car accident and I’m not freaking worried. You’re just doing that so you can get closer to Taylor. I tell myself, not making me feel any better about my situation.

“Well Liam, a couple of years ago set us up.” She says and my heart drops from its spot.

“Well that is until we broke up, too many flaws.” She jokes nudging at Tanner, making me more and more jealous at her.

She’s the one ticking me off and I’m not even on your side.

A roll of the eyes and a snicker came from me.

“Cute.” I say sarcastically, throwing my body back against the back seat and staring out of the window.

You could throw her out the window. My thoughts tell me, having a very sarcastic tone, but meaning the real deal.

Maybe accidently leave her in an un-remote location. This caused a grin to fill my face for a second, but then it was gone. She’ll find her way back.

Quit it, maybe she’s just close to him. Friend wise, like how I was with Andrew.

Let’s just say, this wedding was bigger than I thought it would be. The bride’s freaking train was the size of a train; in fact I’m actually surprised that it didn’t eat up the holders of it. Then again, one did go missing.
