Jake gave up on forcing his decision about the new members of the Committee. Since all of his choices were in his class, he took the badges for them and told the teacher ha had an announcement to make. He was granted the permission. Once everyone got seated, Jake cleared his throat.
-I want to quickly announce who was chosen by me to join the Disciplinary Committee. - Jake said. - These five will be my team. Once I call your name, please come to me and take your badge and the pager. - he explained. - Martha Ackerman. -Martha was slightly surprised that she was chosen, but she accepted the badge. - Leon Ackerman. - Leon did the same. - Zoe Henderson. - she grinned accepting the badge. - Damien Adams. - Damien took his badge with a smirk. Jake smirked back at him. - Last but not least, Lucy Arkham. I count on a good cooperation between us. Thank you. - Jake said, before he took his seat next to Vergilia.
Then the lesson started. Jake leaned back in his seat. He hated maths with passion before, he still hated it. At least his announcement shortened the lesson's time a bit. Vergilia made sure he wasn't getting too distracted, from time to time he was asking her questions. That girl was able to explain everything to him better than the teacher could.
-Jake could you stop disturbing Vergilia? - asked the teacher after a while.
-I can't. - Jake answered.
-He can't, because he doesn't understand the subject. - Vergilia added. - And I can be sure I understand it, because I can explain it to Jake.
The teacher let them be after that. As long, as both of them were passing the tests, he couldn't really do anything. Especially with the Captain of the Disciplinary Committee.
Time skip
Jake was invited to Vergilia's house and he accepted it as always. He was spending a lot of his time there, sometimes staying the night too, not only on weekends. He was welcomed there and he felt at home. That was something way different from what he had when he came back to his house. Everything was better than that silence and mean words. And Vergilia's hugs were the best.
-I could just melt right now. - he said, his head on Vergilia's chest, arms wrapped around each other. Vergilia also scratched behind Jake's ear, making him lean in her touch more.
-Do you want to take a nap? - Vergilia asked, smiling lightly.
-If I did, I will miss the time with you. - Jake answered. - It would be like one second I'm with you, then in another I would have to go home.
-You can always stay. - Vergilia offered. - You have some of your clothes here and you know my parents wouldn't oppose.
-Mouse, I can't always give in to you.- Jake chuckled.
-Yes you can, yes you will, such a shame. - Vergilia smirked and kissed his forehead. - I know what todo to make your mind how I want it to be.
-That's manipulation. - Jake said.
-Love is a kind of manipulation. - Vergilia answered. - It makes us consider things we didn't think about before. I always said I didn't need anyone by my side. Then I met you and it wasn't so easy to say anymore. I would do everything for you and I know you'd do the same. Even if that meant jumping into the fire for me.
-Sounds familiar. - Jake chuckled and rolled on his back, pulling Vergilia on top of him. - And you're right. If someone ever told me I would do something like that for someone, I would laugh them out.
-But here we are. - Vergilia said.
-Yes, here we are. -Jake repeated. - And I can't see us any other way now.
-Me neither. - Vergilia ran her finger's through Jake's hair. They snuggled up to each other tighter and decided to take a small nap anyway. Deep enough to enjoy the closure, but light enough to not to fall asleep fully.
