On the next morning Vergilia and Jake woke up in good moods. They laid in bed sharing kisses and hugs until Damien knocked on the door, and reminded them it was time to get up for breakfast. Jake didn't want to get up. Vergilia left him in bed to go to the bathroom, then she walked back in the room and started getting dressed. Jake stretched and couldn't help but watch her moves. Last year in this time he was in a way different predicament in his life. He couldn't help but smile when he reminded himself about their first kiss.

-I can see your stare burning by skin.- Vergilia said, glancing at him.

-I'm just reflecting your hotness. - Jake smirked, before he stretched once more and finally left the warm bed with a sigh. At first he wanted to just grab Vergilia, pick her up and carry her back to the bed, but he changed his mind after a moment, when his stomach rumbled, demanding breakfast.

He took a quick shower and threw his clothes on. Vergilia waited for him playing on her phone. Jake pecked her lips with a smile on his face.

-Thank you for waiting for me, we can go now. - he said.

They walked out of Vergilia's bedroom and went downstairs to the kitchen. Simon, Eva and Damien were sitting at the table, chatting. They teased Jake and Vergilia about taking so long to get up, as they ate.

-I don't know, why you act so surprised.- Jake chuckled.

-Yeah, I wonder why too. - Damien snickered.

After breakfast it was a time for Vergilia and Jake to drive to his mother's place, as planned. Jake sighed as he packed the bags in the car's trunk. He might have been on good terms with her now, but he still couldn't bring himself to be happy and just trust her, like she probably hoped for. Once they were done, they bid their goodbyes to Vergilia's family and got in the car.

The way didn't last long. After few minutes of calm drive, they were on the spot. Jake grabbed the bags and carried them inside. Jake's mom was waiting there. She wasn't waiting for them alone. She was accompanied by the man, who watched Jake when he was little and was his father figure, although he was never his mother's partner.

-It's good to see you two. - Jake's mom said, smiling. - How are you doing?

-Not bad. - Jake said, not really knowing what to say. He never knew how to answer this question. He wanted to say a lot, but at the same time he wasn't sure if the other side wanted to hear it. - I see changes here though. - he smiled.

-Yes, me and Reggie are together since few weeks. - Jake's mother nodded.

-Took you two long enough. - he teased.

Jake, Vergilia and Reggie chatted with each other wanting over a coffee to catch up. Reggie didn't really know what, happened between Jake and his mother. One day Jake was with her in the house, next day he was gone. Reggie was asking a lot of questions, wanting to know everything.

-And you ended up with your girlfriend.- Reggie said, summing up the story he just heard.

-Yeah, correct. - Jake nodded.

-Are you happy? - Reggie continued to ask.

-More than ever. - Jake chuckled.

The day passed like that, just on talking, watching TV and just relaxing. Something Jake never felt in that household. He wouldn't risk coming back there for good though, it was too easy to argue with his mother and he could see how much he was minding her tongue. "For the first time in her life" he thought.

When it was finally time to set the table for dinner, Jake offered to help her mother and it was accepted. He knew how the drill went with her. Do what she says and don't question. She wasn't the one, who was minding themselves. Jake was doing that as well. Vergilia could see it. Jake and his mother were soon done and it was time to eat. They sat around the table and dug in.
