Jake did exactly what he planned to do about Austin. Apart from talking to Jeremy to know the both sides of the story, he talked about his situation to the school's counselor and for now it was all he planned to do about it. He was in charge of the students, who got in trouble, family stuff and contact with parents was not his concern.
He was on the way back to his office, but he changed his mind when he noticed his friends sitting in their usual spot. Jake didn't have anything more to do regarding the Committee work, so he could spend some time with them. It was a while since he had time for them like this anyway.
-Look who honored us with his presence.- chuckled Damien.
-Your worst nightmare and someday, probably, your brother in law. - Jake answered as he wrapped his arm around Vergilia's waist.
-Sappy as always. - answered Lucy.
-I doubt it will change anytime soon. - Vergilia smirked, tugging on Jake's tie playfully. - Any plans for the weekend? - she asked him.
-Nothing I know about. - Jake said, expecting her to already have some plans for him.
-I hoped you will help me move in. -she said.
-No problem. - Jake agreed. Maybe she would let him spend the whole weekend with her.
-In that case next weekend I'm throwing a party to celebrate moving in to my new house. - Vergilia smiled. - All of you are invited.
-And my party will be the weekend after, so we will have a very hard time. - announced Damien.
-I don't think I had so many parties one after another in my entire life. - Jake chuckled.
His friends looked at him as if he had three heads out of nowhere.
-You're joking. - said Damien.
-Nope, if I was drinking I would do it alone. - Jake answered. - You know I stayed away from people.
-You're lucky to have us. - Lucy stated.
-More than you think. - Jake chucked.
They were interrupted by the bell signaling the beginning of the next period. They walked in the classroom and took their seats, as the teacher was already waiting for them. He started the lesson as Jake decided to take a nap. He was good in English anyway, so nothing gained and nothing lost.
Time skip
As promised, on the next day in the morning, Jake was ready to help his girlfriend with moving in to her place. As uneventful and tiresome as it was, he was happy. He could already see himself with Vergilia there, even though no one spoke a word about him joining her. He felt at home anyway.
Around three in the afternoon everything was set up. The furniture stood in their places, Vergilia's stuff were unpacked. Simon ordered pizzas for everyone, and they spent the afternoon together. On the evening they went home, finally leaving Vergilia and Jake alone.
-So what do you think? - she asked as they were doing the dishes.
-I think, that I would have to go home soon, unless...- Jake said innocently.
-Unless? - Vergilia mimicked his voice with a smirk.
-Unless someone stops me. - Jake answered, walking away as they were done with the dishes.
-You can stay the night if you want. - she said, as she followed her boyfriend to the living room. - I know you have spare clothes, just by pure accident.
-How do you know? - Jake chuckled.
-Why did you ask my dad to drop by your house before we came here? - Vergilia smirked.
-To get the clothes. - Jake admitted, nodding his head. - I would like to stay the night and probably the whole day tomorrow, if you'll let me.
-Of course I will. - Vergilia leaned her head on Jake's shoulder.
They turned the TV on and searched through the channels, trying to find something interesting. They settled on the show about crime and watched it until the end.
-Are we looking for next one? - asked Jake.
-No need, another episode will come on soon. - Vergilia answered, her head still on Jake's shoulder, eyes closed.
-You're not even watching it. - Jake chuckled.
-I'm listening, that's enough for me. - Vergilia answered as she readjusted herself.
They watched it until the marathon of the show was over. Then Jake turned the TV of and went to the bedroom with Vergilia. They both got ready to rest and got in the bed. Both of them had some ideas about the things they wanted to do, but they were too tired. In the end, Vergilia snuggled into Jake more and smiled.
-It would be nice to have you here with me every day. - she whispered.
-I agree. - Jake answered. - We will get it done after my birthday.
-I was thinking the same thing. - Vergilia smiled. - Now good night Kitten.
-Good night Mouse.
