Sarah's P.O.V
As I sat in the room that the people who Vic had thought had kidnapped us gave me, I thought about why we were separated and what was taking them so long to have their 'discussion'. Knowing Vic and how overprotective of me she was, she was probably worrying about me and where they had taken me.
After we got off the plane and the bag that was put on my head was taken off, I was still conscious, but Victoria had fainted. I saw where she was dragged off to, but she had no idea where I went. One of the men in black, which I had guessed were guards, took me down a few long hallways before we reached an area that he said would be my headquarters. He handed me some clothes, while telling me to get out of my pajamas. I gave him a weird look so he left the room, but not before telling me to have a shower. Apparently, I must have reeked
Ever since then I have been ready and waiting for someone to come in and tell me what was going on and what we were doing here.
As if reading my mind, the same guard that had showed me to my 'living space' earlier came in. At first he just stared at me and I at him. I realized something at that moment. The guard looked pretty young, somewhere around 16 to 18. He had dark brown hair, almost black with light brown eyes that could look right into your soul. He had a nice slight build, making him look strong even when he slouched.
Even though he had good looks, I was not fazed by the stare he was giving me and I ended up winning the staring contest. He turned his head away from me but not before I caught a glimpse of red appearing on his cheeks which contained slight stubble.
"Hello, my name is Chris Connors." He said looking back at me. "I was assigned to be your bodyguard. I will explain everything as soon as your sister gets here. I don't know what is taking her so long so don't bother asking me."
"Awwe! Do we have to wait for Victoria? Can't you just tell me what we are doing here, because the suspense is killing me." I whined. I knew I was acting childish, but I could not help it.
Chris shook his head slowly. I could see the pity in his eyes as he looked into my own. "I'm sorry Sarah, but I am not allowed to tell you. If I could I would be more than honored to." He said giving me a warm smile, which showed his pearly whites. I could not help but smile back.
As if on cue, the door of my room that led to the hallway was swung open. I turned my head around to find my sister standing there looking a bit tired, but with a gleaming smile on her face.
"Victoria!" I practically screamed her name for all to hear as we ran into each other's arms. I laughed at how we were acting as if we had not seen each other for months and not a just a couple of hours.
"What happened to your wrists?!" I asked noticing the bandages covering her arms.
"I'll explain everything later." Victoria said smiling sheepishly. "It's been a long day and I am not in the mood for storytelling right now."
I just stared at her pondering about whether or not to fight it out of her, but thought better of it. I knew it was not appropriate to start an argument with my sister especially at a time like this.
"Hey Chris. Should we tell the girls what they are doing here now?" I looked to my right to find to find a very good-looking boy who looked about 18 or 19. The boy was talking to Chris, but it seemed like he could not keep his eyes off Victoria. The boy did not look like a guard, but he did appear a bit weird considering his clothes were all neat and tidy, but his hair was all messed up.
I gave Victoria a questioning look, hoping for some answers, but she only shrugged her shoulders. I could tell by the way she scrunched up her eyebrows that she was deep in thought.
"Hi Sarah." The boy said turning my attention back to himself. "My name is Benjamin Black. I have been assigned to look after your sister. I am not a guard like Chris here." Benjamin said giving Chris a fist bump. "I'm more like a mentor who protects."
"I don't understand. A mentor? Meaning a teacher? And one who protects as well? All of this makes no sense to me." I said, a little more than confused.
"That is why Ben and I are here, Sarah. We want to be able to explain everything so that it all becomes crystal clear." Chris explained reassuringly
"Yea. Chris is right." Ben said in agreement. "Both of you should have seat. This may take a while. In order for us to explain everything, we need your full and undivided attention. There are a lot of things that we ourselves do not understand, but we will try to help you with the parts you two play in all of this. I know that after we have explained everything you guys will have a lot of questions. All we ask of you two is your trust. Can you do guys trust us?"
Victoria and I looked at each other with narrowed eyes. We both knew one thing: trust had to be earned not just given. If those two wanted our trust they needed to tell us our 'roles in all of this' and prove that they could be trusted. For arguments sake we just nodded our heads. Of course trust could not just be given to anyone, so we would never put our guard down.
