Brief mention of blood.Ella unlocked the door to her flat walking in, silently followed by Alessia. Millie and Mary had yet to arrive. They had gone to a near by builders merchants for some supplies. They had planned to fix the damaged walls. None of them were particularly handy but Mary would always put her hand to anything and give it a go. A value her teammates really appreciated.
Ella felt embarrassment as she relieved the very fresh memory from the night previous. Stopping in the open plan living room, she looked around. With the daylight shining through the window she seen the true extent of her temper.
She was reluctant to turn to Alessia who silently stood in the Kitchen but she eventually did. Her face full of apprehension.
"It's bad init" Ella stuck her tongue into her cheek, sighing.
"It's.... Yeah" Alessia sighed "We'll sort it out. Should we start with the bedroom?"
"Wh-What" Ella stammered. It had just occurred to her that she and Alessia would be alone together in the very room Ella had imagined them intimate in. Not only had she imagined it, the walls were stained with the knowledge of what she had called out.
Truthfully, Ella had never lied to Alessia before. It was bad enough to have to tell her it was over Ona. But she knew she couldn't tell her what had really happened. That would be so awkward. She didn't want her best friend to think she was some weird stalker. That was her worst nightmare. Now that Ella was thinking of it, she wasn't even in Alessias league. This whole thing was stupid.
Just look at her, Tooneys face saddened as she seen the striker in front of her in jeans and a baggy T-shirt, why did she ever think she had a chance?
"We can pack your stuff up?" Alessia frowned a bit confused.
Ella snapped out of her spiral of thoughts. She couldn't say no now, logically it was the only thing they could do to make a start.
"Yeah, sorry. My heads fried" it wasn't an excuse, it was true. Ella's mind truely was fried. Constantly running and thinking, even after a full 8 hours sleep she still felt tired. It was draining her, these feelings for her best friend. They were so intense. Not like any she had felt before and that's why she struggled to control them. It felt like a full time job.
The midfielder led the way into the bedroom. She had forgotten about the bloodstained grey carpet.
"Christ it looks like someone has been murdered" she muttered. "It didn't look that bad last night"
"Have you got any baking soda?" Alessia asked innocently.
"Why" Ella turned looking at the blonde. She couldn't help the deep look in her own eyes.
"A little trick I learnt in the US. They use it for everything" The strikers lips curled up.
"Have a look in the cupboard under the sink" the midfielder pointed toward the kitchen. She made a start, emptying her wardrobe into her suitcase.
The striker returned, bowl of water and clothe in hand, she started scrubbing at the carpet. They existed in silence. Enjoying each others company, regardless of the circumstance.
Mary and Millie soon disrupted the silence, crashing through the door, their arms full of DIY supplies.
"No wonder I've had a noise complaint" Ella spoke under her breath rolling her eyes. She felt her face light up as she heard Alessia cackle. She always found her best friends laugh irresistibly contagious. It made her happy.
Ella walked out to her living room and seen Mary and Millie carefully reading the tiny instructions on the back of a tin.
"Is that paint?" Ella queried. Confused.
