Ella sat down on the uncomfortable bench in a lounge at Heathrow. The team had been told they there was a delay before they collected their luggage. Members of their back room staff had been pulled aside. No one knew quite what was going on.

"They best not tell us our bags are lost... I'll be fuming" Alessia sat on the floor in front of Ella. The bench next to the midfielder occupied by Mary and Millie.

"Oh I know!" Ella agreed, looking down to the blonde who was engrossed in her phone.

"What you up too?" The brunette couldn't help herself. Intrigued to find out what Alessia's tired mind was so focused on.

"Can't tell you" The striker smirked timidly, glancing up to Ella before quickly bringing her eyes back to her phone.

"Why's that then, 'ey?" Ella grinned back. Leaning over slightly to try and get a better look of Alessia's phone, the blonde quickly pulling it to her chest. The striker looking at Millie and Mary who were having their own quiet discussion, then glancing around at the room full of their team mates.

Tooney immediately unlocked her phone, texting Alessia.

'What mischief are you up to?'

Her eyes rested on Alessia, she seen her message drop to the top of her screen, watching the striker blush as she tapped the notification. Writing her response quickly.

'Me to know and you to find out 😉'

Ella tried to hide her smile, not wanting the others to pick up on their antics. She looked around the room, her mind racing and her heart jumping. Before she could respond she felt her phone vibrate again.

'Are you free next Wednesday/Thursday?'

She looked down to the striker and nodded. The blonde laid back against her hand luggage, typing out her next message, crossing her legs so that her face was hidden from Ella's sight.

She felt her phone buzz again.

'How does a date night in the outskirts of London sound?'

Ella took a deep breath in, once again, it took everything in her to wipe the silly grin off her face.

'Sounds like a dream' She hit send without thinking. After a few seconds, there was no response. Alessia wasn't typing anymore. She read her message back... Instant regret flooded her face.

What was she thinking? Was she being too eager?

She thought about sending another message, suggesting she get a hotel. Not wanting Alessia to be in the position where she felt she had to offer Ella to stay with her.

Alessia started typing... then stopped. What did that mean? Ella's mind was in overdrive what if Alessia didn't want her to stay overnight in London? Her text did only say date night.

Her phone buzzed in her hand again and relief flushed her body.

'I wish you were free this week'

She read the message again, and again. Her heart thumping in her ears.

'Get the feeling I'm going to want to binge watch master chef, it's not going to be the same without you there'

Ella sighed as she read the message.
There was nothing she wanted more than to lay and watch reality TV with Alessia. Them joking and poking fun at each other, no doubt they'd end up cuddling under one of the strikers ridiculously heavy blankets. But she couldn't. She had found a flat she needed to view back in Manchester. She had already put a small deposit on it to keep it off her market for the last few weeks, it was stunning. Just around the corner from Mary's, close enough to the training ground but not too far from the local shops and retail parks. It was ideal.
