- BLAIRE'S POV -

Christina
- They're going to hit each other!

Blaire
- What?!

I stand there for a few seconds while the information reaches my brain.

Blaire
- Where are they?!

Christina
- Come with me!

She starts running towards where the two brothers are. I can already hear them yelling at each other like two kids.

As I reach them, my heart races, trying to catch my breath.

Tom
- Why would you say something like that?!

Bill
- Tom, I just helped her see things a little more clearly.

Tom
- You didn't help Bill at all!

Bill
- Calm down Tom, I think there's a big misunderstanding here.

Tom
- I heard everything Bill!

Bill
- Obviously you didn't hear all of it, since you're here yelling at me.

Tom was starting to get nervous, clenching his fists slightly. Chris and Marc burst in ahead of them, coming between the two boys.

Chris
- What the hell is going on here?

Marc
- Are you done being childish?!

Tom sighs before looking at me. He doesn't take his eyes off me for a few seconds, which seemed infinite at the time.

Marc
- Are you going to tell us what's going on with you two?!

Bill
- Tom's getting worked up over nothing.

Tom looks away, eyes wide.
- I'm getting angry for nothing?! You've got to be kidding me.

Marc
- Tom.

Tom
- Let us handle this, Marc.

Marc
- You're going to punch each other in the face and that's out of the question.

Tom
- There's no need... I'm going to get some fresh air.
he says, heading for the exit. I start following him, trying my best to catch up with him.
- Tom!

Tom
- Blaire, leave me alone for a while, please.

Blaire
- Tom...

He doesn't turn around, just continues walking along the sidewalk without giving me a single glance. I sigh as I watch him inch away until he disappears from my field of vision.

----

I've been waving my fork around my plate for a few minutes now without bringing it to my mouth once. I wasn't hungry tonight. All I wanted was to know if Tom was all right. I couldn't reach him.

Crysta
- Aren't you going to eat, Blaire?

Blaire
- I'm not very hungry.
I say, pushing my plate back to the center of the table.
- I'll go and tune my guitar.
I get up and leave the table without saying another word.

I walk down the long corridor to the instrument room. As I opened the door, I came face to face with a boy. He had his back to me, but I knew perfectly well that this boy was the one I'd been waiting for.
