22. It's Not Over

"Ro, come on. You got 10 minutes before I come up there!" I shouted from the bottom of the stairs as Ro is late for school again.

Robyn's now 5 months pregnant and Ro has just turned 11 not too long ago, and I swear she's 11 going on 21. As I go into the kitchen I see Robyn sitting at the kitchen table. I wrap my arms around her before kissing her cheek.

"You good?." I question Robyn before I kiss her cheek once more.

"Yeah babe, I'm fine! I just want to go back to bed. I'm so tired!" She tells me before I let her go from my hold.

"You go back to bed babe! I'm gonna go to work after I drop Ro off at school, so you can have all day to relax!" I tell Robyn before she gets up from the table.

"I love you!" She tells me before kissing my lips.

"I love you more! Now go, go upstairs and rest and I'll come back on my lunch break and check up on you." I tell Robyn before I kiss her cheek.

"Okay dad! I'm ready." Ro says as she finally comes down the stairs.

I let Robyn go upstairs to rest as I tell Ro to make her breakfast before school. We'll be running a lil late but it's cool the principal at Ro's school and I used to go to the same school together. So I'll just tell him why we were late and hopefully he'll understand?.

After Ro and was done with her breakfast and went back upstairs to clean her teeth, we headed into my car and out of the driveway before I drove Ro to school.

"Come in!" I tone Whoever was at the other side of the door before I got up from my desk.

"Chris? Hi, um? Can we talk?."

"Ugh! Mika? What do you want?." I question her before she shut the door to my office.

"You thought about letting me see my daughter?." She questioned.

"For the millionth time Mika! You are not seeing my daughter. You ain't even her real mother and don't start acting like it now! What? You getting tired of that boss boyfriend of yours?." I ask before I take a seat on my desk.

"Chris I—"

"Don't! Just don't. I don't need you and your drama right now! Nor ever to be honest! Now go because I'm busy!" I told Mika before she huffed.

"You go ahead. Play happy families with your new girlfriend and baby on the way. But once you and Robyn are too busy with your newborn to look after Ro don't come begging for my help!"

"Like that will ever happen! Now get the fuck out you bitch!" I tell her before I get off of my desk.

I watch as Mika gives me a death stare before walking away and out of my office. I take a long and deep sigh before running my hands down my face. This is not what I need today! I don't need no fuckin' drama! As I turn around to go back to sit on my desk my thoughts turn to Robyn and how she's doing right now?. I grab my phone before I give her a call on FaceTime.

I know I told her I'd go back to check on her but I just found out after I got into the office this morning that I got back to back meetings from lunchtime up until about 6 this evening.

"Hey babe! What's up?." Robyn questions me after she answered my FaceTime call.

"I got bad news Rob! I found out I got back to back meetings and they won't end till like 6. So I'll call my mom to pick Ro up from school. But I'm just letting you know!" I told her.

"Okay babe! I gotta get on the phone with Matt but I'll talk to you later. Love you!"

"Okay babe. Love you too!" I tell her before I hang up the FaceTime call.

I put my phone down on the desk before I run my hands down my face. I log back into my laptop and get some work done.

Later That Evening

As I walked to my car, I heard someone call out my name. After I turned a saw Mika's manager and boyfriend come towards me. Ugh, great! What does he want?.

"What do you want Kyle?." I asked as he came up to me.

"Mika was crying to me over the phone telling me you ain't letting her see Ro? What kind of a father does that?."

"Ugh! What kind of a mother goes days on end without caring for their daughter? Cause that's what Mika did to Ro! I was there for Ro every single time and Mika would rather go fuck you then be home with her. With us!" I told Kyle before he hit me in the face. "What the fuck?." I said as I saw blood coming out of my nose.

"You calling my woman a bad mother? If you are, you got another thing coming!" He said while hitting me again.

Now I'm not the one to fight back put fuck it! I started to hit him back before we both were now throwing punches at each other. Kyle was now on the ground so I had the upper hand! But before I could do anything to the son of a bitch he kicked me and I went flying through the windscreen of my car.

Abs that's all I remember... everything after that went dark...

A Few Hours Later

When I woke up I was in the hospital. I couldn't remember what happened to me, but luckily I could remember everyone in the room.

"Dad, you're okay!" Ro said hugging me tightly as Robyn wiped a tear from her eyes.

"I'm okay my sweet girl. I'm okay!" I told Ro but I was also telling that to Robyn.

"I'm so glad you're okay Chris. You really scared me!" Robyn told me before I held her hand.

"I'm fine baby! We're all fine!" I told her before Robyn laid on my hospital bed with Ro and I.

I'm so happy I remembered my family and that I'll be okay! The doctor told me I had to stay at the hospital for two days just to be sure I'm okay.
