10. What Now?

After Robyn and I told each other how we felt about each other I felt happier that I didn't have to hide it anymore! But what's next? I don't know!....

Mika got the rest of her stuff and even though Ro doesn't want us to break up she understood that Mika and I are not going to be together.

"Dad? Do I have to go to school today?." Ro asked me after she came into the kitchen as I was now texting Robyn on my phone.

"Yea Ro! You need to go to school my angel! How about I ask nana if she can pick you up because I'm a little busy this afternoon." I told Ro before she huffed and went upstairs.

I know she's still upset that I didn't try and fight for my marriage but then again how could I when I caught Mika cheating!

You see she did tell me she was now seeing her manager but that was after I caught her talking dirty him on the phone! I told her it was me or him and she chose him so I guess that says a lot right?.

I got up from the kitchen table after hearing a knock at the door. I looked through the window before I saw it was Robyn. I smiled to myself a little bit before I opened the door.

"Hey Rob! You good?." I question her before I let her in.

"Yeah Chris! Um? Are you okay?." Robyn asked before she came into the kitchen after me.

We both sat down at the kitchen table and I told her what is going on... you see, Mika called me this morning to ask me if we could talk about what's now happening with Ro, and if Mika can see her over the weekends.

After I told Robyn what Mika asked she knew it wasn't going to go down well, so offered to pick Ro up from school and take her to her place so that Mika could come over here so we can talk!

"If she wants to I mean—"

"I would love to go to Robyn's house!" Ro said coming into the kitchen with her school stuff. "Can Robyn take me to school today?."

"Um? I don't—"

"I would love to take you to school and pick you up Ro! Shall we go now so you're not late?." Robyn questioned Ro before she got up from the table.

I get up from the kitchen table while Robyn and Ro make their way out of the house. I tell Ro to have a good day before heading out of the kitchen. I head upstairs to take a shower and look online for a job as now I need one! And later on today I'll call Mika to tell her to come over so we can talk.

Later In The Day

As Mika and I sit down on the couch she looks at me like I'm about to give her a telling off or some shit. I'm not the kind of man to raise my voice nor lay my hand on a woman and I'm not gonna start now just cause I'm a lil upset at Mika for choosing that asshole!

"Why you lookin' at me like I'm about to hit you or some shit Mika? You know I'm not that type of man. So stop lookin' like that!" I tell her. As soon as these words leave my lips she stops looking at me like she has been.

"I-um? I just wanted to know if you thought about letting Ro stay with me over the weekend? I know it's a lot to ask as we have just separated Chris. But I love her to bits and—"

"No chance! Mika you choose another man over your family! Yes sure you can say "well I just did what you did all them years ago." And you are right! I did cheat first. But like I keep telling you we were kids back then! And we didn't have a kid to look after back then!" I told her as I got up from the couch.

"I'm sorry Chris! Okay I'm truly sorry about falling in love with another man! But I did and I know you've fallen for Robyn—"

"She's got nothin' to do with this Mika! This is about you and me. And what's best for our daughter! Don't you get how hurt Ro is right now?. She slept with me last night because she was scared I'd off myself or some shit! She's 10 years old Mika! 10!" Now I start to yell!

"I'm sorry—"

"She shouldn't be thinking in that way! I ain't gon waste my damn blood pressure on you. Get out!" I told Mika before I went into the kitchen.

I took a breath before I leaned against the kitchen counter. I heard the door slam shut so I'm guessing Mika left! I ran my hands down my face before I sighed to myself. I still can't believe she fucked this marriage up! I knew she was cheating on me but I just didn't want to believe myself.

Robyn and I are now just chilling on the couch at my place. She's finally come over to mine after she finished writing. Ro is upstairs at the moment doing her homework. So Robyn and I get to have a bit of time to ourselves to maybe talk about what's next for us?.

"You really like all these action movies?." Robyn questioned me as the credits start to roll on the movie we just watched.

"Yea, I do, but Mika didn't! So I never had a chance to watch them. If I'm being honest I wanted to turn the basement into a man cave. But she wouldn't allow it!"

"Well now you can!" Robyn told me before she looked at me. "Chris? Can I ask you something?."

"What's up?." I ask as Robyn starts to play with the chains around my neck.

"Do you think we can make this work? You know after you're divorced. Because I don't want to rush you into anything—"

"Robyn!" I tell her before I held her hand. "I want to see how this goes with you! But if you're not ready—"

"I'm ready to start a new relationship Chris! But I just wasn't too sure how to ask if you will ever be ready?."

"I just need time and to get Mika fully out of my mind and then maybe I could take you out on a date?."

"I would like that! I better be going!" Robyn tells me before she gets up from the couch.

I get up from the couch and follow Robyn to the door before we say our good nights to each other. I give Robyn a kiss on the cheek before I shut them lock the door before I turn to see Ro walk up to me.

"You should ask Robyn out on a date Dad! I haven't seen you smile or laugh this much in so long." Ro tells me.

"Come on you!" I say before I lift her up. "You are sleeping in your bed tonight!" I tell Ro before I kiss her cheek.

"Dad! I'm 10 not 5!"

"You'll always be my lil girl no matter how old you get!" I tell her before I make my way up the stairs with Ro.
