Agam POV
After 10 days we arrive Suryagarh fort in the evening.
I haven't seen my wife for 10 days and she had made sure of that by getting ready before anyone wakes up and eating meals with us putting her veil.
I had my reserves going to Malwa so I brought a huge army with me but Pankaj Rao shocked me with minimal guard checking of my baraat and giving the soldiers free day to enjoy wedding.
I was even more shocked by their rituals and the fact that Ramaji Rao, his own son is not present in wedding and another woman is taking part in rituals meant for bride's mother.
But Pankaj Rao told me that Ramaji is dealing with problems in Chandvanipur where traitors are trying to group up and dethrone him and Maina Devi is like a mother to Mohini after her mother's death.
We enter the palace seeing my Bua-sa with aarti plate, we near the entrance and she touches our forhrad with tilak, throws flowers on us and moves it in circular motion in front of us.
We touch her feet to get the blessings, she looks at Mohini and says,
'With right leg gently push this pot of rice and then put your both feet in this red dye plate. After this I will take you both to temple hall to take blessings of our idols.'
She does as told and we move to temple hall where we ask for blessings of God.
Then Bua-sa comes forward with red lac chudas and says,
'I am Agam's Bua-sa, not blood related. Your father-in-law took me as his sister so with love he calls me that.'
'This is our tradition that bride wear these chudas after entering her in-laws house.'
Mohini takes the bangles remove her green ones but shocks everyone by pairing it with the chudas and wear, like this she is respecting both our cultures.
I am impressed by that and small smile sneaks out but Bua-sa is not impressed because in her eyes she has disobeyed her.
She already dislikes her because her being enemy's daughter. I try to come up with something when my friend comes forward with beaming smile.
'Bhabisaa, humse miliye humara naam, Ekansh hai aur hum aapke pati ke bahut achhe dost hai, aur aapke sabse pyare Devar.'
'Bhabisa, meet me, my name is Ekansh and I am your husband's very good friend, and your dearest brother-in-law.'
'Aur humara naam Viraj hai aur hum hai aapke sabse pyaare devar.'
'And my name is Viraj and I am your dearest brother-in-law.'
Viraj comes forward. She just bows at them with joined hands. They both looked at me confused as to why she is not speaking.
I just shrug, she is shy. We both move toward palace when Avantika and Naina stops us.
They both are my friends but I distanced myself from them but that doesn't mean they both have left me. Viraj and Ekansh's friendship is important for my mission.
Or that's what I tell myself.
'Thahariye, aap andar tabhi jaa sakte hai jab hum dono ko humara neg milega.'
'Wait, you can go inside only when both of us get our auspicious treasure.'
Naina says with a big smile while Avantika looks like she will be anywhere but here. Just like Bua-sa, she doesn't like Mohini for similar reasons.
