Inca was curled up in my arms, whispering sweet nothings in my ear and all I could do was murmured apology and apology.
Inca told me about what happened that morning, about how she started doubting herself and everything we started to have. I was nervous at first to open up. To tell Inca what I was feeling and things that went through my head. But now Kim had to go and ruin everything for me. For us.
I nuzzled into the crook of her neck and cooed about how much I loved her, that we could get through this. I thanked her for sticking with me. I promised her that things would get better. I was over Kim.
She whispered that she understood that we'd take things one step at a time. There was a knock on my door.
"Hey, it's Jake, you might want to come down." Jake heaved as if he ran to us.
"Hmm, give us a minute. We'll be out soon" Inca called rubbing my back. That's when I heard it. A familiar voice.Inca was just fixing her hair into a messy bun when she came running to me. Anger corded through me. Bryce stood there in the doorway. He had a shit eating grin on his face as he eyed Inca. I protectively wrapped my arms around Inca's waist.
"What the fuck do you want?" I growled. Inca wrapped her arms around me and whispered to me soothing affirmations.
"I was just in the neighborhood. Thought I'd come by and see what all the fuss is about." Bryce purred while sitting on the couch.
"Please leave!" Jake announced while getting in between the two of us.
"Yeah, not happening. I was invited."
"By whom?" Lisa yowled while glaring at Kim.
"Miss, that's nothing of your concern. I just thought that Max and I could go hang out for a bit." Bryce said putting his hands up to surrender.
"Not in a million fucking years" I growled. This day just keeps getting better and better.
A phone buzzed in the background, but I didn't want to know.
"Just leave!" Inca shouted grabbing something from behind her. Bryce chuckled with a hint of malicious tone that set off alarm bells off in my ears.
"What are you going to do? Throw a shoe at me? You're cute" Bryce chuckled as if this was some sort of game that he was sure to win. No matter what the cost was.
"Just leave please. We all have to get ready to go. The producers want to meet with us." Lisa muttered while locking her phone.
"Alrighty then." Bryce stated before leaving. Silence filled the household. Tension was rising and all I could do was squeeze Inca closer to me.
"It's ok love. He's gone. It's ok" Inca cooed while rubbing my back.
"Ok now that he's gone, we have a challenge! This time Daniel is going to be host. I guess we're all in for a treat." Lisa explained while showing us her phone.
"Let's play!"
