ADELINE
Eight days have passed.
I was now at a hotel called Warwick Seattle, which makes the fourth hotel I've stayed at since arriving. They've all been located in the center of the city. The mass numbers of people that stayed and traveled through this area helped to mask my scent and provided me with more protection.
Luckily, no one has found me yet. With each passing day I had begun to feel more and more at ease. The feeling of guilt for leaving Bellingham was almost completely gone and it was being replaced with sadness. I felt like I made the right choice either way but I couldn't shake the sadness that lingered from leaving Braxton.
Although he hadn't claimed me yet, I still did feel the pull to be with him and I couldn't push the thought of him out of my head. His eyes, the way their hazel hue would shift into a glowing gold color. The darkness they held, but the softness they allowed to show through when he looked at me. His lips and how they felt against my own and the skin on my neck. The warmth his touch would emit onto my body was a feeling my body was longing for.
Ember's soft meow pulled my attention to her. I let out a small sigh as I let my thoughts dissipate for now. I pushed the duvet off of my legs and moved myself from where'd I'd been sitting in the bed. The room I was staying in now was a bit larger than the one I had stayed in at the Crowne Plaza when I first got here, although the layout was identical.
The bathroom was also located to the left when you entered the room. However, this room was slightly nicer with the vanity and tub being made of marble tile. There was also a king size bed, which was on the left wall. The tv and large oak desk/dresser combo sat against the right wall. With the room being bigger, there was space on the other side of the bed for an off white couch with simple round coffee table in front of it. There was even a small balcony, which Ember thoroughly enjoyed.
I pulled open the small bag of food which I had purchased for her the same day we arrived, after I had woken up from a very long nap. The invisibility spell had exhausted me and I slept for a few hours after getting into my hotel room that day. She purred lightly and rubbed against my leg, anticipating her breakfast. After pouring her some food onto a paper plate I walked into the bathroom.
I showered quickly and wrapped a white towel around myself as I stepped out. A slight shiver erupted over my skin as the cool air hit me. I could hear my phone ping from on the bed and made my way back out of the bathroom to see who had texted me.
Picking up my phone, I immediately saw Caroline's name. I read the words 'How are you doing?', causing me to feel instant guilt.
I had told both her and Sarah that I had a family emergency and had to leave town, not knowing exactly when I'd be back. It was the same excuse I had always used, but this time I was feeling extra guilty for lying. Caroline was such a nice lady and didn't deserve to be lied to. Same with Sarah, but she was just a friend, not someone depending on me to come in to work. I let out small sigh before tossing my phone back on the bed, giving myself some time to come up with a response.
After moving clothes around in my suitcase for a minute or two I finally decided on what I wanted to wear. I let my towel fall before pulling on a black pair of underwear and matching black bralette. I then wiggled into a pair of light wash jeans and put on a long sleeve white shirt with a flannel over top.
My stomach rumbled with hunger and I decided to make my way down the street to a nearby coffee shop. I quickly dried my hair and then threw it into a low bun. Grabbing my purse, I tossed my phone and room key inside. I then pulled my Uggs over my feet and made my way out of the room.
