Her abuse

I could feel my world collapsing as he dragged me out to the backyard, furious that I had dared speak and asked to eat.

I should have been quiet and stayed in the corner, then he wouldn't have gotten mad.

I screamed as he crashed his heel into my side, yelling about interrupting him while he was working. The pain seeming to spread through my body as he kicked me, sending me crashing into a tree.

He scoffed and I painfully ducked away, making myself small and unnoticeable. He grumbled furiously and left me to painfully cry about my pain and hunger.

I looked around and examined the fence line, some desperate need to get away sparking inside of me. I stumbled weakly to the gate, he never locks it, I hardly spend any time outside anymore.

I shut it behind me and looked around, I limped down the sidewalk, examining the world. I forget what it looks like sometimes, the demons world is not what one would expect. It's bland and even though some plants and animals are strange, the town's and suburbs are eerily human.

A demon riding a flaming maned horse stopped beside me, examining me, as the rider wore a normal police uniform. Though they look human, they definately are not.

He hopped off the stead who stomped a massive hoof in frustration. He muttered something into a phone and crouched to get to eye level with me.

"What's a cute animal like you doing out here?" He asked, his voice soft. I rubbed my sore hip and flinched.

"You've gotten yourself hurt. I see. Come on let's get you somewhere that'll look after you" he invited, I nodded in obedience, he smiled and hoisted me onto the large horse.

He spoke into the phone some more before riding the horse to a large building, it looked menacing and tall to me. Large concrete walls, wailing animals, loud voices.

He carried me with ease through some sliding glass doors. A tall woman greeted him and examined me.

"Looks malnourished, we'll get her straight to the vet" assured the woman, the policeman thanked her and patted my head, I leant into the gentle touch.

The woman called in several people who lifted me onto a human sized bed, wheeling it out into a corridor. I groaned in hunger and pain, shutting my eyes and blocking out the world.

I awoke to being in a large cage, nothing but wire and metal poles keeping me in. On either side was concrete walls, blocking my sight of the other animals around me. It was loud and scary, animals making all sorts of sounds.

I slunk into a corner and curled up. He's going to be so mad knowing I've run off.

Food and water was brought in by a busy demon man, who didn't stop to say a word.

I glanced around before eating and drinking, yet again returning to the corner, ignoring the fluffy pet bed in the middle of the cage.

Days went by of constant food and water, that's rare. I like it though.

A demon woman entered my cage one day, examining me and sitting nearby, talking softly.

"Hello sweety. Are you ok with baths? You need one" she said, I don't know how to respond, so I just hide my face behind my hair and stay in the corner.

"You never leave that spot. You have a whole bed right here for you to use" she cooed, I stared at her suspiciously and didn't move.

"Let's get you cleaned up" she stated, she stood and I cowered in my corner. Why is she coming closer? I get ignored in corners, why is she-
