I looked to the dragon man, he stroked my head and smiled softly. "You will be safe won't you?" He asked, I nodded and smiled. He rubbed a floppy ear and smiled goofily. He checked the collar on my neck and scrutinised me, a single tag on the collar, it was carved into a specific shape. Telling the world I am property of a dragon. I couldn't be happier though, I was only 10 when he found me, running away from some bullies, some wizard guy, as a prank killed my pet rabbit and did some kind of spell, which gave me a twitchy muzzle, long brown ears and a cotton tail, basically he made me get the features of my dead rabbit.

Everyone teased me, my parents struggled to accept my change in appearance, but the spell was permanent, non reversible. The bullying got worse and I was running. He found me, he chased those kids away, yet I was terrified as he carried me off, looking after my grazed arms and legs, rubbing my ears and asking about them... He's my hero.

He brushed back my hair and braided it, fitting me into a red shirt and black pants. He yanked on my tail playfully and patted my head, I whined and crossed my arms.

"Get going. You said you wanted to go on an adventure didn't you?" He hummed, I nodded and stepped towards the cave exit. I waved to him and hurried down the path, smiling brightly. My goal is to find the rare honey flower, I had fallen in love with it in masters botany book. He says it might be in the gulley, past the elfen gardens. It likes hiding in damp spots, so maybe I'll find it near the rocks or by a river or creek.

I hugged the backpack straps and reached the bottom of the cliff, heading towards the elfen gardens, a huge expanse of hedges and flowers, pristine white gravel paths, lanterns hanging around everywhere, magically turning on at night. I remember when master took me there for the first time, sitting on a delicately carved wooden bench and letting me run around and explore. Now I can leave on my own.

I followed a dirt path, watching some birds fight over food. Bits of a carcass, maybe master dropped some of his prey by accident. I delved towards the elfen gardens, humming happily. I stopped as I looked to some deer, chewing on grass, lifting their heads to watch me pass by, I bounced and headed along, into the beautiful world of the gardens, tall trees making the sunlight speckle amongst the white rocks, blocked in by thin wooden boards.

An elven couple walking around, they looked at me and whispered to each other, most of the elven people know who I am, know who I belong to. I smiled and waved, they returned the gesture, I hummed and watched the beautiful long tailed birds bounce from branch to branch. I pulled out the book, opening the bookmarked page and examining the wonderful yellow flower, that drips a honey like substance, apparently it can be drunk and tastes amazing. Grey and white leaves on a soft green stem. I sighed in delight and moved onwards.

Finally passing by the elven gardens, I looked down into the gulley, sheep down by a creek and other animals, I smiled eagerly, watching a goat climb up the gulley with ease, I moved down slowly, drinking from a water skin and smiling. Fun filled me as I slid down the grass, moving quickly.

I followed along the creek, it was nearly midday, master will want me back by sunset. I traveled along the creek and tried spotting anything under the rocks or hidden in the mud. I walked along, growing more and more disappointed as I found nothing. I was really hoping for something...

I sighed, I might have to give up soon, I will need to head home.

I dived further into the gulley, peaking around rocks and listening to the trickle of water. The sheep began watching me, probably wondering why I had ears, I think it confuses a lot of animals. I frowned, about to give up, reopening the book, I examined the flower, getting frustrated and disappointed. I was so looking forward to finding it.

I sighed, peaking around a small waterfall, beside it, hidden away in the darkness, was something glowing golden. I smiled and rushed over, getting my boots and socks wet, squealing in delight. I pulled the jar from my bag, looking into the crevice, inside the mud was a bunch of these flowers, the honey like stuff dripping over the petals and onto the roots.

I smiled brightly, delicately freeing one, careful with the roots, I filled the jar with mud and put the flower in there, leaving the other flowers alone. I closed the jar and stuffed it inside my back moving carefully as I headed back around the creek, successfully throwing my hands up and moving happily. Another successful mission and journey, maybe next time, he'll let me travel even further to find an even rarer flower. I climbed out of the gully and moved towards the elven gardens. The sun setting. I hummed and watched the lanterns flicker on, deer traveling over the grass, some flowers shining in the low light.

I suppose master's botany book and the nearby elven garden have inspired my love of flowers and exploring to see the beautiful things nature has to offer. I headed towards the cliff, my home.

"It's the bunny, still being caged by the dragon, backup food" teased a voice one of my bullies. I tried to ignore it, but he sneered and pushed me, I nearly fell, whimpering.

"Get lost Jonah" I snapped.

"Aw, the bunnies mad, what are you going to do? Kick me?" He mocked, I huffed.

"I'll call master" I warned, he stepped back a little, and scowled.

"You're a little snitch!" He snapped turning and running. I huffed and headed up the cliff, the sun nothing but a glow over the horizon. I entered the cave and sighed, my mood ruined by the teasing.

"You're a little late. Why so down?" He hummed, I watched him walk over, fixing up my ears and my collar, rubbing and checking the tag on my neck.

"Just a bully bothered me on my way back" I mumbled, he nodded and smiled at me.

"Did you get the flower?" He asked, I brightened and nodded, pulling the jar from the bag, showing him the flower, he smiled and took the jar, he planted the flower into a pot and put it in a dark damp area, filling his hand with the honey stuff from the flower, he held it up to my mouth and I drank it, smiling in delight, it was delicious!

He drank the rest and washed his hands.

"Bath time" he hummed, I hurried to the bathing spot, he undressed me and untied my hair, pulling me into a bath. I let him scrub me and wash me.

After the bath, he dried me and sweeped me into his arms, carrying me to bed, I snuggled onto his chest, wrapping my arms around his neck and getting cozy as the blanket fell over us. He kissed my forehead and stroked my back I rose and fell with his chest as he breathed deeply.
