'Trust your instincts, and make judgments on what your heart tells you. The heart will not betray you.'
- David Gemmell"Landooo..." she said drunkenly as she recognized the Brit in the club, "It's good to see you again."
The music was humming in her ears and colorful lights flickered in the club. She pulled on her long drink with relish as Héli moved up behind her.
"I feel the same way," he smiled.
"You're here with the boys, right? My brother too?" she asked, although she could actually answer the question herself.
Héliose and Luise had decided to go out and celebrate. The season was over. They could finally do everything that women their age did. They didn't have to follow a diet. Didn't have to train eight hours a day. They could do whatever they wanted. Even if Luise found it difficult at the moment.
When she told her brothers, Charles immediately came out with the fact that he was also going to party with the boys. In the same club. At first it had totally bothered her, but then she didn't really care. She even liked it, because she knew that if something really happened, Charles would be there to help her.
"Yes, they're sitting in a corner at the back drinking," he pointed behind him.
"And you?" she asked with interest, raising an eyebrow, "You don't drink?"
He shook his head.
"No, I'm the one who drives everyone home."
"Very gentlemen like."
He laughed.
"That's me." He winked at her.
"Luise, let's go to the bar," Héliose whined, pulling on her arm.
"Yes." she rolled her eyes, "Good, I have to go, Lando. Have a good time."
"You too," he smiled and they parted ways.
The evening was extended by an hour and the new day had already dawned.
They had ordered another long drink a few minutes ago, which Luise had taken a big sip of, and then returned to the dance floor, where they danced to YMCA. Luise cheered wildly and sang along loudly. She quickly realized that her limit had been exceeded. More than usual. She had reached the level where she didn't care about anything. Where she simply celebrated and enjoyed the evening. The only difference was that she was more euphoric than usual. Which Héliose had also noticed, but had only acknowledged with a puzzled look and then carried on partying.
At the same moment that she had simply felt good and her worries had disappeared, she had felt unwell. One second she had felt fine and the next, dizziness and nausea hung over her. Her vision blurred before her eyes and she had difficulty holding the cup because her hands were shaking so much.
"Héliose!" she shouted, trying to fix her friend, "I- So- I'm going- I'm going- Bar- I'm going to get another- another shot."
Her friend gave her a confused look, but she then let her go.
"Okay, bring me one as well."
She nodded and tried to weave her way through the crowd. She didn't aim for the bar, however, but wanted to get some air outside. Her rational mind would never have gone outside on its own. Not even her drunken self would do that. And yet she had done it. Because she didn't care.
On the way out, she also realized this fact. She realized that something was different than usual. The feeling of being drunk was different than it was at that moment. Her hands were tingling. Her heart was beating wildly. The nausea was getting worse. Her vision spun even further.
