'That nervous feeling when you're about to meet his parents for the first time.'
- Unknown

Luise was standing in the bathroom of a luxurious hotel in Bristol that she and Lando had shared the price of. She was trying to apply her make-up decently. She was trying to apply her make-up in such a way that she could appear in front of Lando's family without embarrassing herself. Even though Lando had promised her that she couldn't embarrass herself and that Lando's family was looking forward to seeing her.

It was strange for her. Luise had never met one of her boyfriend's families. For the sole reason that she never had a boyfriend before. Lando, on the other hand, had been in situations like this before. What's more, he already knew Luise's brothers and the only thing missing was her mother, whom Lando had to get to know. Luise had to meet them all. And then all at once. They had planned a family dinner. With his parents, his brother, his two sisters and their partners and his brother's child.

She was incredibly nervous. Even more nervous than before the drivers' dinner during the summer break. Somehow she also had the feeling that their relationship was only now getting serious. After all, Lando was introducing her to his family. And she had heard from friends that it was usually a critical step in a relationship. Or a step that needs to be carefully considered. Not that she didn't have the feeling that their relationship wasn't already serious beforehand.

She was going to meet Lando's parents. What if they didn't like her? What if they hated Luise? Maybe they were prejudiced? Thinking that she was a girl who only wanted his money. Which of course wasn't the case, after all she earned enough money herself. But they couldn't know that.

She had put her hair in beach waves and had then taken the front two strands and brought them together nicely at the back. You could think of it as a simple wedding hairstyle.

She had just moved on to the last step and had finished it. She left the bathroom and went into the small living room, where Lando was sitting on the couch typing on his cell phone.

"I'm done," she smiled and sat down next to him.

"Very good. My mom is already waiting excitedly," he laughed and pointed to his cell phone, "She's been texting the whole time. She finally wants to meet you."

"Are we too late already? I've been in such a hurry," she said nervously.

They both knew that there wasn't much time between their arrival in England and the meeting with his parents. But they had to take it that way, as Lando had to be on his way back to the Netherlands on Wednesday. So they only had Monday and Tuesday to meet and get to know his parents.

"No, don't worry. She just can't wait," he smiled, "You know, it's been a while since I introduced them to anyone."

Luise actually knew that. He had told her how things had ended with his previous girlfriend. And that it had ended a year ago. They had been together for two or three years. So it had been longer since his family had met a new woman. What's more, his siblings were all happily in a relationship, so it was obviously very exciting for his mother. But under no circumstances could his mother be more nervous than she was.

"And I can't wait for the first meeting to be over," she said nervously, "What if they don't like me? Find me weird? Oh God, I don't even want to think about it. I can do so much wrong."

"Okay, you need to calm down," he laughed and grabbed her by the shoulders, "My family will love you. And you don't have to do anything except be yourself. And then everything will work out. Besides, you bought her flowers, she'll love you for that alone."

"You say that so easily. I've never done anything like this before," she said desperately, "I could do everything wrong."

"You can't." He reached for her face and tried to reassure her with a kiss on the lips, "You're beautiful. Physically and inwardly. They can only love you. Plus, you have the cutest accent."
