'You can remember the second and the third and the fourth time, but there's no time like the first. It's always there.'
- Shelagh Delaney"I would love it if you came back upstairs," she said with a smile on her face, watching Lando's reaction as he sat next to her in the driver's seat.
"Only if you really want to, of course," she looked down at her fingers and tried to cover up her nervousness. Her nervousness was still as strong as it had been on the first day. Asking him something like that made her heart pound. She was afraid of going too far. To take the next step too quickly. After all, she had no idea how quickly something like this worked.
"I would love to." He smiled broadly and reached for her hand. How often she had now felt his hands on hers. How her rough fingers stroked her soft ones.
"I already miss your comfy bed," he chuckled and she was relieved. He didn't think it was too fast. He was just as happy. At least that's how it seemed.
After the Grand Prix in Austria, they had seen each other almost every day. Whether it was celebrating with the boys yesterday. Or the day before, when he had slept over at her place. They enjoyed every second of it. Also because they knew that they wouldn't be able to do as much together when they were both working. So they had to make the most of their free time.
She had officially started training again in the meantime, which is why she couldn't be in Austria. Things looked worse again next week, as she had a training camp in France and he had the Grand Prix in France. They had already thought about whether they could somehow manage to see each other, but had not come to a decision.
She laughed, "Maybe I'll share my bed with you again tonight."
"I would love to," he said with a smile. His eyes sparkled and she wondered if it was because of her. Whether his eyes shone in the same way when he talked to Max or his family.
He parked his car and they walked up to her apartment. She still couldn't believe what had happened over the last few weeks. All she knew was, that she had just walked into her apartment holding hands with Lando. That her whole body tingled when they kissed. And that her feelings for someone had never been so strong.
They took off their shoes, put their belongings back on the kitchen island and then faced each other.
Suddenly there was that magic again. That atmosphere that arose when they looked at each other. And then there was the moment when they came closer again. He closed his warm, long fingers around her face and their lips were already on each other.
The kiss was intense. Her body tingled as they pulled apart again.
But Lando's expression had also changed. He still had the same magic as before, but he looked thoughtful as well. She knew that look, he often had it. Especially just before he was about to take the next step. And Luise knew that no matter what he suggested now, she couldn't turn it down. She trusted him completely. And she wanted more, just as he wanted more.
"Do you trust me?" he asked hoarsely, looking deep into her eyes.
She swallowed.
"Yes." Her voice was only a whisper.
"Are you ready for the next step?"
Her breathing quickened. She knew what he was getting at. And she understood why, after all, it was part of a normal relationship. But it was incredibly difficult for her to get involved in that.
She bit her lower lip and his eyes shone again.
"Say yes," he whispered pleadingly and was so close to her ear that she could feel him breathing.
