Ch31 - You’ve grown up
Xie Mu coughed and raised his voice. “Cheng Chuan.”
There was movement outside almost immediately, and a tall and strong flat-headed man opened the curtain and came in. “Sir.”
He called out respectfully first, then silently came to the bed. He carried Xie Mu with stable hands and gently placed him in the wheelchair.
After making sure Xie Mu was settled in well, Cheng Chuan half knelt in front of him to cover one side of the blanket over the man’s legs. He carefully tucked in the edges and corners to make sure not a trace of wind would penetrate the blanket. He then stood respectfully behind the wheelchair.
“Do you want to go to the company?”
“Ke…” The man in the wheelchair coughed, his face pale as he waved his hand. “Have you found Xie Shi?”
Cheng Chuan’s eyes were dark. “The young master and Miss Zheng are both at the Zheng family.”
“The Zheng family, ah.” Xie Mu’s eyes seemed to fall into a trance and his face became even paler.
“Sir, do you want to send someone…”
“No need.” The man waved his hand. His voice was light, frail without any strength. “He likes Zheng Ying, let him go.”
“But that’s your fiancé…”
Xie Mu’s pale face revealed a touch of bitterness as he said softly, “I am already like this. Zheng Ying is marrying someone who can’t even take care of her. Even if there was no such thing, I also want to withdraw from the marriage.”
“She is the same age as Xie Shi, so this is good.”
Cheng Chuan was still indignant. “Even if you intend to withdraw from marriage, the young master’s scandal is still making you lose face!”
“That’s enough…” The man waved his hand to make him stop talking.
“Go to the Zheng family. Have Xie Shi come back. Tell him, I won’t pursue it.”
“But…” Cheng Chuan had more to say, but the calm man in the wheelchair shook his head. His eyes strayed far beyond the corridor, staring at the snow outside.
Cheng Chuan looked at the person he followed.
He had once been a spirited young man. Now he had changed into a person who seemed about to break even from the effort of speaking a few words.
At the moment, as he looked at the snow, even his heart seemed bitter.

Xie Mu looked at trees outside covered in white. Not only was he not sad, he was actually feeling rather gratified. [Next time, please find another one of these settings where I can just sit here every day. Not having to walk is pretty refreshing.]
