"Recho... Recho... Recho. I have wanted to tell you something for a long time but I just didn't find the chance to tell you but now that you are here, I think I have a chance, right?" Jaffery Lutta who was now staring at Recho Wairimu glanced aside and saw that the flowers beside the pavement were not that bad. He had watched countless soap operas and saw that all girls liked flowers.
This meeting came so suddenly and Jaffery Lutta didn't have the time and money to buy better flowers from the market so, he stretched his hand with the aim of plucking one of the flowers but a student suddenly rushed out of nowhere and jumped on his back making him to embarrassingly fall on his knees like a log. One should know that Jaffery Lutta was weak and the person that jumped on him was heavy not to mention that it was so sudden.
"Ooh! I am so sorry Jaff. I didn't know you were that weak. Here, I brought you a cake. Take it as a compensation." Paul Nduta gave Jaffery Lutta a small box that he was carrying before he switched his gaze upon Recho Wairimu.
"You shouldn't have done that to him. You almost broke his legs." Recho Wairimu reprimanded Paul Nduta before she smiled at him.
"Don't worry, he is not injured at all... Anyway, where are we going today my love. Today's lessons have already ended and I think that we should also be heading somewhere else. I am tired of seeing the school buildings. You know." Paul Nduta said to Recho Wairimu. He had even forgotten about Jaffery Lutta who was now squatted beside them, not knowing what to say.
Jaffery Lutta was glancing at the cake in his hands from time to time, not knowing whether he should eat this cake or throw it away but because he was so hungry not to mention that he might even fail to eat something when he got home because his parents didn't even care about him. His parents were so audacious in that they could even eat supper early and wash all the utensils so that it looked as if they had not cooked or eaten anything, they would simply tell Jaffery Lutta that they didn't manage to get money to buy supper so, he would be forced to sleep hungry that day.
Make no mistake, it was now past 1600 hours and the day's lessons have come to an end so, it was time for the students to get back to their hostels or their homes.
"Let's go to the same place. Hahaha!" Recho Wairimu said to Paul Nduta with a light laugh.
"That's my girl." Paul Nduta swooped Recho Wairimu and carried her the princess style and started walking away.
"Put me down first. I have legs." Recho Wairimu whined while shaking herself out of Paul Nduta's embrace which forced him to put her down reluctantly.
"I don't like being moved around like a child." Recho Wairimu said to Paul Nduta but her still yearning face denied her claim.
"It's ok." Paul Nduta said simply.
"Jaff, please join us for fun at Paul's place." Recho Wairimu turned her head and asked Jaffery Lutta who was still holding the cake in his hands with a complicated look.
Paul Nduta frowned when he heard this but he smiled afterwards, not letting Recho Wairimu to see his disappointed expression.
"Jaff. Recho is right, please join us." Paul Nduta grit his teeth and invited Jaffery Lutta.
"I think it is not bad to accompany my crush." Jaffery Lutta said subconsciously before he stood up and followed behind the two lovebirds. After all, Jaffery Lutta was not that in a hurry to get home, he could even go home in the middle of the night and his parents would not talk anything about it.
At the parking lot of the college, there, Jaffery Lutta could see Paul Nduta's Bentley. Just like Recho Wairimu, Paul Nduta's parents were also wealthy.
Paul Nduta opened the front passenger door for Recho Wairimu and said to Jaffery Lutta,
"As a man, suit yourself."
Jaffery Lutta knew the meaning of those words, they meant that Paul Nduta would not open the door for him so, he simply go for it himself.
Click!
"The door is locked!" Jaffery Lutta said to Paul Nduta after trying several times to open the door. Paul Nduta simple clicked some buttons on the dashboard which unlocked the door, he didn't say anything else to Jaffery Lutta and started the engine.
At the back passenger seat of the vehicle, Jaffery Lutta could not help but praise the extravagant of this car.
One should also know that even if Paul Nduta was a 17 years old boy he could still drive a car because nowadays, the country allowed for 16 years old and above to get a driving license.
"What am I going to do at Paul Nduta's place? Why did I even get in his car? Of course they are going to enjoy themselves while I spectate, why did I accept to join them? Was it because of the promising food at Paul Nduta's place or I simply wanted to hang around Recho Wairimu?" As the car speed on the road towards the "estate of the wealthy", Jaffery Lutta was busy asking himself these questions.
