"Wait for a moment, there's something on your face."
Jaffery Lutta got out his handkerchief and rubbed off some white liquid on Recho Wairimu's face.
"Paul Nduta! That bastard!" Recho Wairimu shouted in anger with embarrassment evident on her face. Paul Nduta kicked them out of his house without even giving her a chance to wash herself.
"Your face is ok now..."
"You can just leave me at the bus stop and then from there, I will take a bus back home." Jaffery Lutta said to Recho Wairimu as they walked down. He didn't want Recho Wairimu to disturb herself and go with him to where he lived back in the slums, that would be totally embarrassing and he would not only lose face but it would make Recho Wairimu to pity him even more.
"No. You should come to my place and stay there for the night, I am sure tomorrow when you wake up, you will be feeling better." Recho Wairimu advised Jaffery Lutta with a look of concern.
"But Recho, I don't want to..."
"Rest assured, my house is big and it can house more than a family." Recho Wairimu interjected him not giving Jaffery Lutta a chance to refuse her invitation.
Jaffery Lutta just shrugged his shoulder and followed Recho Wairimu, his heart could not help but beat with anticipation, this girl was his crush and he was going to stay in her house for the night, how do you expect him to be calm?
It took some time for Jaffery Lutta and Recho Wairimu to come out of the estate, out there, they could see that the city was just as lively as it was even if they were not in the CBD. The estate where Paul Nduta stayed had its own bus stop where people could sit by as they awaited for a bus to take them to other parts of the city. This bus stop usually didn't have customers and the bus drivers were used to this state and no bus usually stopped here because they knew that in this estate, everyone had their own vehicle, how do you expect these rich bastards to use a bus?
Recho Wairimu sat Jaffery Lutta on the awaiting bench of the bus stop and went forward to try to stop the fast moving passenger public busses by waving her hands and shouting. She looked cute and Jaffery Lutta could not help but smile by the side.
Right now, it was merely 1800 hours but nightfall was about to encompass the city. Jaffery Lutta could even hear the sounds of crickets from where he was seated. Furthermore, some vehicles which were passing by had their headlights turned on.
"If this continues, we will not get a bus to take us out of this place." Jaffery Lutta thought to himself after he saw the way Recho Wairimu was waving at the moving carriages. After all, Recho Wairimu was used to using either her own car which she had left at the college or call for a cab, she was not like Jaffery Lutta who only knew about public busses in his eyes.
Without having a choice, Jaffery Lutta stood up and walked slowly towards where Recho Wairimu was and hugged her from behind which caused her to jolt but when she saw that it was Jaffery Lutta, she relaxed.
"I told you to remain seated as I look for a bus." Recho Wairimu glared at him.
"I have come here so that we can call a bus together." Jaffery Lutta said simply.
Jaffery Lutta then stopped hugging her and stood by her side before he took her hand which she was using to wave desperately at any bus that passed by.
"That's not how we call for a bus. They may think that you are simply saying goodbye to them or greeting them." Jaffery Lutta then clasped his left hand and Recho Wairimu's right hand together and they then stood there like a couple, waiting for the next bus to pass by.
"So, this the way? We don't have to be active and do anything?" Recho Wairimu asked with a puzzled look.
"Yes." Jaffery Lutta confirmed while staring at the moist face of Recho Wairimu, he liked being close to her as he felt his heart being exited as if he was close to something special. He could not help but smile awkwardly at her.
"Is... there something on my face?" Recho Wairimu asked Jaffery Lutta after she realized that he had stared at her for a long time while smiling like a retard.
"We need to go." Jaffery Lutta averted his gaze from Recho Wairimu's face and pointed at the bus which had stood in front of them. The conductor inside the bus opened the door for them and they went aboard the bus.
It was a rush hour and the bus was totally full but Recho Wairimu and Jaffery Lutta were luck to get the last two empty seats which were close to each other.
On the way, Recho Wairimu simply remained staring out of the window as she observed the activity of the night in the city. Jaffery Lutta's eyes on the other hand never left staring at her tempting body, his mind was only preoccupied by the beauty beside him.
She was young, beautiful and energetic. Her smooth skin, kindness and innocent aura would make any man want to protect her. This girl was the person who had made Jaffery Lutta to continue studying in that damn college even if he knew that he was simply wasting his time. Yes, he was still in that college because he wanted one day to conquer the heart of this lady beside him, he wanted Recho Wairimu to be his. This was what he dreamed of to achieve one day.
"All the denizens of Donholm, this is your stage, we will not drive inside." The bloodshot eyed conductor hollered coldly.
The passengers started climbing down and Recho Wairimu helped Jaffery Lutta to come out of the bus.
Make no mistake, Recho Wairimu had already paid the bus fare when they got in the bus.
"This is way too behind. They didn't even carry us to where I expected." Recho Wairimu complained with a distraught expression on her face.
"Hahaha! That's how these matatus work, they are not as flexible as the cabs." Jaffery Lutta reminded her.
"Anyway, we can just walk to my place because it is not that far from here, maybe five minutes away from us." Recho Wairimu calmed down.
They held their hands together and started walking slowly along the walkway. Jaffery Lutta had recovered slightly and he could now walk by himself though he was still feeling a little pain in his chest which made him to groan from time to time, though he would try to muffle the groans because he didn't want Recho Wairimu to see his weak side.
"I like coming to Donholm fo a walk, I didn't knew you also stay around these places."
"I think an intuition of mine has always been leading me to this part of the city, I didn't know what I was searching for in Donholm at that time as I would just walk by aimlessly, but now... I know it has to be someone special that my heart was looking for, this person stays in Donholm." Jaffery Lutta confirmed while glancing at the towering apartments around.

[undisputed_shame: Well... The public passenger busses in kenya are called Ma3/matatus. You can Google it on your phone and check it out. These busses look weird for sure because of how they are made, it is a culture found only in Kenyan big cities.]
