"Why have they became quite? Has something bad happened to them?" Recho Wairimu asked but she was quickly shushed by Paul Nduta who was nonchalant yet irritated at the same time. Just like the others, Paul Nduta was holding a machete in his hands as that was the weapon that he was given by the unknown entities that brought about this apocalypse in this world.
One should know that the entities didn't just leave the Earth's denizens to perish and they gave them these weapons that could kill the corrupted one. But because so many people in this club came from well off families that didn't allow them to hold even a stick, many of the people on the lower floors had already been taken out by the corrupted ones. Furthermore, some of the thickheaded and foolish people would have already thrown the weapons in their hands aside the moment they saw them because they thought that it was merely an utter joke, this was what caused many of the people to be taken out so quickly by the corrupted ones.
Kyyyawwwlll! Kyyyawwwlll!!! Kyyyawwwlll!!!
Everyone could hear the daunting snarling of the corrupted ones. It sounded like a cry of a child who was being strangled. This only gave everyone on this floor the chills as one could even see that the weapons held in their hands were shaking considerably. The corrupted ones had not even stepped on this floor but everyone was already in a misery. What they were waiting right now was their inevitable end.
"Will we die here?" Shamim Mwikhaki who was beside Jaffery Lutta asked him so suddenly, her voice reverberating in the silent room. This question made others to glare at her with hate as no one wanted noice because they were concentating on the door and the sounds made by the corrupted ones.
"I will protect you with my life. I will not allow you to die. Never!" Jaffery Lutta assured Shamim Mwikhaki adamantly before he stood in front of her to protect her from what was silently approaching.
"Guys! I think we should escape from this asshole before it is ravaged by those so called corrupted ones. Don't you guys think so?" Benjamin Sunusi suddenly suggested. He didn't like the notion of waiting for their ends here, it just made him too jittery at the thought of waiting to die.
"Don't be such a shitty chicken Benjamin! We haven't even seen those so called corrupted ones. Maybe it is just some stupid nightmares that rampaged our minds earlier. We have to wait and see for ourselves what has been stored for us, most importantly, our future enemies." Ojo Abraham reprimanded Benjamin Sunusi but behind his words one could easily detect the nervousness and helplessness in him. However, his curiosity had overshadowed his rationality just like the other waiting people on this floor.
Nonetheless, it was not that the people on this floor didn't want to escape, it was just that there seemed to be something watching them from behind the doors that led down the staircase. This made them not to dare move a step forward, worried that when they dare to escape, their backs would be ripped to shreds.
Bang!
The people on this floor didn't have to wait for a long time as a chunk of the door was ripped off by a sharp glistening claw which just added to the horror in the hearts of the people on this floor. From the little groove that had been created by the claw, they could vaguely see something but they could not make out its shape because the groove was so small, not to mention that behind the doors, only darkness prevailed.
"I can't wait anymore!" Benjamin Sunusi run towards the elevator without care. He would better do it now than later. He just wanted to use his friends as a meat shield for his escape.
"Such a stupid coward! This is the reason I don't like to hang around with ass thieves!" Ojo Abraham was fuming inside. He gritted his teeth and run, following behind Benjamin Sunusi. He also knew that remaining here was only waiting fo their deaths. No one could fight the beings behind those claws.
One should know that everyone on this floor was not a dumbass. They had already knew what Benjamin Sunusi and Ojo Abraham were up to and no one wanted to be used to halt the movement of the corrupted ones so that their fellows could escape.
