Chapter 24: Muhl v Muhl

Jade

I woke up early this morning and turned my phone to airplane mode just in case Nika tries to call me. I want her to think that I'm flying here with Hana and the basketball team.

After that I decided to get up and dressed to go for my morning run with Hachi. I had to bundle up a little bit more since it's colder here than it is back in Indiana. But it definitely helps people from being able to recognizing me. I also stopped to grab me breakfast before heading back to the hotel.

Once I got back to the hotel, I opened up my laptop and realized something that I didn't know was going to happen. It was only 10am and the internet has exploded over the fact that I didn't fly to Connecticut with the team. I read so many different articles about why they think I am not going to show up to the game. The most common reason is that they think I chosen to be with Sky.

Once it hit 10:40ish I finally turned airplane mode off, and it started to light up like a Christmas tree. I have missed calls and texts messages from Paige and Azzi. But most of them were from Nika. Just when I was about to call Nika, Hana calls and I answered.

Hana- As you might have noticed the media found out that you were not on the plane with us.

Well obviously everything is blowing up, even my phone is blowing up.

Hana- I just got off the phone with Nika and she was freaking out about it.

What did you tell her?

Hana- I told her that the media was right about you not flying with us, but I reassured her that you will be at the game tonight.

Thanks Hana for doing that.

Hana- You really have the internet going right now though. In a few minutes they will have a missing person flyer out for you.

It's Okay they will find me at the game tonight.

(After that Roberta starts to call me.)

Sorry Hana your mom is trying to call me I will talk to in a little while.

Hana- See you soon.

( I answered Roberta's call.)

Hello

Roberta- It's just me and Darko just checking in on you. Plus we already gotten a call from Nika this morning.

Yeah I just got off the phone with Hana, and she told me that Nika was freaking out a little bit.

Darko- There was no little bit about it. She was full on worried. But she told us that she talked to Hana, and Hana told her that you would be at the game.

Roberta- We also told her that we talked to you, and said that you were going to be there.

Darko- You might want to call her to tell her that you are going to be there.

I was just about to call her, but then Hana called and then you guys called. But I promise will call her after getting off the phone with you.

Roberta- Good because I think you are the only one who can make her focus on the game today. Anyways we will see you at the game.

And with that they hung up. And I quickly scrolled through all of my missed messages. Once I finished I finally called Nika and it only ringed once before she picked up and yelled...

Nika- Where are you? And I know that you didn't fly here with Hana.

Everything is okay.

Nika- Everything is not okay. We have been trying to get a hold of you since we read the article. So tell me the truth. Where are you?
