VISIONER

Visioner hesitated at the entrance of the healing center. He didn't want to see the state the self-defense teacher would be in. It terrified him to just imagine it.

He was scared that it reminded him too much of himself when he had first arrived at Jade Mountain, and the second time he had come here, no memory of his friends or the school.

Both times he had been in near-death situations.

Visioner took a deep breath, then limped inside.

It took him a moment to locate the dragon he was looking for. He spotted her near the back of the cave. Visioner made his way towards her.

"Hi."

He almost gasped at the sight of Jasmin. Her normally-bright green eyes were dull and bloodshot. Dark circles shadowed them. Her wounds weren't better; they looked even worse. She sounded exhausted but stubborn at the same time.

"I know, I'm a mess." Jasmin winced as she shifted her position. "Everyone coming by has this shocked face whenever they see me. It's hilarious. Hm. You aren't as fun as the others. Aaand there it is."

"Is it the poison?" Visioner asked, finally finding his voice again.

Jasmin swallowed and turned away. She changed the subject.

"I heard Clay's covering for me," She said. "I think this place needs more teachers."

Visioner frowned, but let it slide. "Probably," He whispered. "M- maybe some of the old students will come back to teach."

"I hope so." Jasmin stifled a yawn. "I never thought I'd say this, but I miss my winglet. Even Winter."

"He was here some time ag-" He paused. He blinked.

Where am I?

Destroyer was nowhere to be seen. Visioner jumped as he realized that a strange dragon with colorful scales was staring at him. He stumbled, and he realized that there was a strange device on his arm which restricted his movements severely.

"W-what?" He took a few steps back. Where was Starspeckle? He recalled a dark purple dragonet near his age, offering him half of an orange.

"Visioner?" The other dragon was looking at him with a surprised expression. "What happened?"

"H- how do you-" Visioner's mind was filled with mist and fog that hid his memories. How had he come here?

Where was his family?
