JASMIN
Jasmin tried to scream, but her mouth was forced shut by the iron muzzle on her snout. Her back arched as another blast of poison trickled into her veins. Wasp watched on with a cruel smile.
"Where are they?" She demanded. "Where are those pesky dragonets?"
Jasmin wanted to shout, "MY MOUTH IS FREAKING SHUT, OKAY?" but her mouth was freaking shut. Her eyes widened, and her wings were tense. Wave after wave of pain kept reaching her heart.
Why am I not dying? Let me die.
Jasmin's eyes opened with a start. Her breathing was fast and ragged. But she was surrounded by white sheets and a familiar face looking down at her.
"Are...you okay?" Turtle asked.
"Oh. Hi," Jasmin breathed, closing her eyes. "Let me just..." Another image of the HiveWing queen entered her mind, her cruel talons clenching chains holding onto huge, howling wolves. Her eyes flew open again. "I'm fine. Totally normal. As normal as I can get, anyways." She managed to give him a strained smile.
"Sunny told me what happened," Moon murmured. "I thought they...I thought Wasp was dead."
Jasmin flinched at the name. "It was animus magic," She growled. Turtle flinched at her sharp tone.
"Why are you here, anyways?" Jasmin quickly changed the subject.
"Well...I can't tell you," Turtle shrugged. "Kinkajou threatened me not to tell."
Jasmin smiled as she imagined the bright RainWing forcing pineapples up poor Turtle's snout.
"Well, I'm guess I'll see you again soon," Jasmin said.
"What do you mean?" Turtle said. "I'm just visiting! Nothing's going on!"
"Yeah, yeah."
