After the wedding party dances, Atsumu announces that it's time for the bouquet toss. He then runs right up to you, despite how fast you shake your head, and drags you into the circle with the other girls.
"Atsumu," you huff.
"Shh, you have to catch it," he smiles.
"What if I don't want to catch it?"
"Oh, please. Yes you do. But good luck, 'cause I'm totally catching it."
You roll your eyes and stand next to him.
"And ladies," he shouts, making everyone jump. "I know it's going to be a tough competition, but the lucky lady who catches this is garunteed to find herself a new husband in the near future!"
The crowd laughs at his joke, but he continues unphased.
"Alright, so, on the count of three, we're going to start. And remember, this is a serious competition, so no cheating," he says, eyeing the group. He then puts down the microphone and readies himself beside you. "Okay, here we go! One... Two... Three!"
With that, the bouquet is thrown into the air. And, just as he predicted, Atsumu is the first to jump up. However, it just barely misses his fingertips, and instead, falls right onto your face.
"Oh my god, Y/N, are you okay?!" he gasps, rushing over to help you.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," you groan as you grab the bouquet. "I guess I just don't know love even when it hits me in the face."
"Yeah, but you still got the bouquet," he smirks. "Which means..."
"Stop," you sigh, pushing him away.
"Go find your husband, Y/N, it's time for a dance," he smiles, shooing you off.
You can't help but smile as you turn away from him and walk back to your seat.
You then look down at the bouquet and smile. It's made of beautiful white and red flowers, and they look stunning. But what makes your face heat up the most is the look on Kita's face when you approach him.
"I caught the bouquet," you say as you show him the flowers.
"So, you're the lucky girl?" he asks, a faint blush spreading across his cheeks.
"Looks like it," you smile.
"Well, in that case, I think we should take advantage of the moment," he says, holding out his hand.
"What?" you ask, confused.
"I think we should dance," he explains, taking your hand in his.
"But I thought the bouquet toss was a joke," you laugh.
"Who cares?" he shrugs as he places the bouquet on the table. "Come on."
He then leads you to the dancefloor, and the two of you begin to dance. The song is slow, and the two of you move together effortlessly. As you dance, you can't help but think about how perfect the moment is.
"Thank you," Kita says, smiling.
"For what?"
"For coming with me today. I had a great time," he hums.
"Me too," you smile, resting your head on his shoulder.
You can't believe you're dancing with Kita at his best friend's wedding. It feels surreal, but also perfect. Like it was meant to happen.
"Hey, Y/N, look," Kita whispers.
You lift your head up and follow his gaze. There, in the corner, is Osamu and his wife sharing a kiss. It's a sweet moment, and you smile at the sight.
"They really love each other," you sigh.
"They do," Kita nods. "I'm really happy for him. He deserves to be happy."
"I agree," you nod. "Atsumu on the other hand..."
"Really needs to get laid," Kita finishes.
"He's so desperate," you chuckle.
"And a real pain in the ass," he adds.
"I'd say this is a blessing in disguise for him then," you grin.
"And I'd have to agree," Kita nods.
Just then, the song ends and the other guests join the dancefloor. You and Kita part ways, and you watch as Suna pulls him into a hug, whispering something into his ear.
"What is that about?" you wonder aloud.
You then feel someone tap your shoulder. When you turn around, Atsumu is standing there, a smirk on his lips.
"Looks like your husband is being stolen away from you," he teases.
"Oh, shut up," you huff. "I'm going to get a drink."
"Have fun," he grins, patting your back.
As you make your way to the bar, you can't help but feel a sense of happiness wash over you. The evening is going better than expected, and you couldn't be more grateful for the chance to experience such a moment.
After getting a drink, you turn back around and your eyes fall on Kita. He and Suna are standing by Osamu and his wife, laughing at something. The four of them look like the perfect picture of happiness, and it warms your heart.
I'm so glad I was invited, you think to yourself. This is truly a special moment.
You then make your way over to them, and the night continues with drinks, food, and more dancing.
When the night comes to a close, you can't help but feel sad. But of course, that's when Atsumu makes his way back over to you with a big grin plastered across his face. "I hope you're not getting tired out, you two, 'cause this party's just getting started!"
You look around and notice a lot of Osamu's family members are beginning to leave. "What are you talking about?" Kita sighs.
"We're about to head over to the after-party, and it's gonna be wild!"
"After party?" Kita repeats.
"Yup," he nods. "Samu and his wife are renting a room inside for all the single folks. And they're even paying for the booze! What a great way to end the night, huh?"
"I see," Kita sighs. "And was it you that put it all together?"
"Maybe..."
"Well, it was nice seeing you," Suna grins. "I know you'll be off chasing ass the rest of the night."
"That's right," Atsumu grins, turning to him. "So, what do ya say, Rin? Want to come with me?"
"Why not," Suna shrugs.
"And you guys?" Atsumu then asks you and Kita.
"Sure, why not," Kita shrugs. "I'm up for a party."
"Me too," you nod excitedly.
"Hell yeah," Atsumu cheers.
"But if anything gets too crazy or stupid, I'm leaving," Kita adds. "I don't want Y/N to catch your dumbass disease."
"Oh, fuck you," Atsumu rolls his eyes.
"Well, I'm ready," you sigh.
"Then let's go," Suna says, and the four of you head off.
