"Hello, I’m Lucy, Miss Jane's assistant " she introduced herself with fluent English, extending a hand toward the tall figure before her.

" Myself Ryan , the project head " another figure Said introduced himself

"Hello, I’m Kim Taehyung," he replied, with a warm smile lighting up his face.

"This is the contract. If you agree with all the terms and conditions, please feel free to sign it." Lucy said extending the contract towards him

"I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with you. I’m looking forward to our future cooperation." His voice carried a mix of enthusiasm and professionalism, an infectious energy that instantly put Lucy at ease.

"It’s our honor to have you as our brand ambassador," Lucy responded, her tone sincere. "Your impact across the world is truly undeniable, and we believe your association with our brand will resonate well with our audience."

Taehyung nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Thank you. I’m excited to be part of something special."

Lucy flipped through the pages of the contract, her fingers brushing over the neatly typed clauses. "Our Korean branch is already in progress. All the arrangements will be completed within this month, and we’re planning the opening ceremony for next month. We have a press conference scheduled with several Korean and international media outlets that day. We would love for you to be present so we can officially announce you as our brand ambassador."

Taehyung raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "That sounds great. I’d be happy to participate."

Lucy continued, her tone turning serious. "However, until then, everything must remain confidential. We can’t have any leaks about the partnership."

He nodded, a glint of understanding in his eyes. "I respect that. You can count on me to keep it under wraps."

"We’ll send you the event’s schedule soon. You don’t have any commitments in the first week of next month, right?" she asked, her gaze searching his.

"Okay, I’ll ask my manager to make the arrangements. Don’t worry—our schedules won’t overlap," he assured her, confidence radiating from him.

"Perfect," Lucy said, relief washing over her. "I shall take my leave now. Here’s to a happy cooperation." She extended her hand again, this time for a firm handshake.

"Happy cooperation," he echoed, exchanging the handshake firmly

A week before press conference .

"Lucy, what's the status of our branch in South Korea?" Jennie asked, her tone a blend of curiosity and concern as she leaned back in her chair.

"Everything is going as we planned, Ms. Jane," Lucy replied confidently, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "All the arrangements have been made. The location is excellent; it’s in a vibrant area that will definitely grab attention. We’ve also completed the recruitment of staff, and I’ve been in touch with both Korean and international media outlets for the press conference. With our brand ambassador present, I’m sure the opening ceremony will be a tremendous success."

"Okay, I just don’t want anything to go wrong," Jennie said, a hint of tension in her voice. Memories of her past failures flickered through her mind, amplifying her anxiety.

"Ms. Jane, are you really not going to check on the branch?" Lucy asked, her brow furrowing slightly.

"No, I am busy," Jennie replied curtly, attempting to dismiss the concern.

"But what about the press conference? You won’t be present either?" Lucy pressed, sensing the gravity of the situation.

"I—I don’t think I’m free on that day either," Jennie stammered, the weight of her responsibilities pressing down on her.

"But, Ms. Jane, the CEO of Ruby Cosmetics cannot miss the press conference and opening ceremony!" Lucy exclaimed, her voice rising with urgency. "It will impact the brand's image significantly. Besides, you don’t have any important commitments on the 2nd and 3rd of next month, and the press conference is on the 2nd. You should reconsider."

Jennie bit her lip, her heart racing as she weighed the implications. The thought of facing the press and the public again sent a shiver down her spine, but she couldn’t let her past dictate her future. "Okay, okay, I will check my schedule. Don’t worry; nothing will impact our brand’s image. You can get back to your work now," she finally conceded, though a flicker of doubt lingered in her mind.

As Lucy nodded and began to leave, Jennie felt a wave of unease wash over her. She glanced at the documents scattered across her desk, the pressure mounting as she grappled with the decision. She knew that her presence at the press conference was crucial—not just for the brand, but for her own journey of reclaiming her place in the world.

With a sigh, she resolved to review her commitments once more. She couldn't let fear dictate her actions any longer.

"Don’t worry, Jennie, it’s just for a day, right? You can do it. You can do it for your brand," she whispered to herself, trying to muster confidence. "Besides, no one really remembers me anymore. I’m Ruby Jane now. I doubt anyone will recognize 'once an idol' Jennie Kim anymore."

The words echoed in her mind, a mantra meant to soothe her nerves. It was true—so much had changed in the past five years. South Korea had evolved; K-pop had transformed into a global phenomenon, and people had shifted their focus to new idols and trends. She was no longer the center of attention, and perhaps that was a blessing.

With a deep breath, she reminded herself that she was building something new, something that was entirely hers. "I can do this," she thought, resolutely pushing aside the lingering insecurities.

“Lucy, send me the press conference schedule,” she called out, determination replacing her earlier hesitation.

“Okay, Ms. Jane!” Lucy replied cheerfully, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm as she set to work. "I'll have it ready for you in just a moment!"

As Jennie leaned back in her chair, she felt a surge of adrenaline. This was her chance to step back into the spotlight, not as the idol she once was, but as the founder of her own brand. She envisioned the opening ceremony, the cameras flashing, the reporters eager for a glimpse of the new Ruby Jane.

Lucy returned shortly, her tablet in hand. "Here’s the schedule for the press conference. We have a rundown of the events planned, including your speech and the introduction of our brand ambassador," she said, handing over the document with a proud smile.

Jennie scanned the schedule, her heart racing at the thought of standing in front of a crowd again. "It looks good, Lucy. I want to make sure everything is perfect."

"You can count on me. I’ll coordinate everything and keep you updated on any changes," Lucy assured her, her energy infectious.

As Lucy left the room, Jennie felt a mix of excitement and apprehension. She was stepping into a new chapter of her life, one that promised challenges but also great rewards. “I can do this,” she repeated to herself, a smile creeping onto her lips. It was time to embrace her new identity fully.
