Running into the Fire (Skye Blue x OC)

"So how was the date?" Skye couldn't help her smile at Toni's question. Everyone had either seen or heard about her kiss as well as the date that had been planned and all of the women were waiting to know how it had gone.

"It went well. We have another one this weekend." She was leaving out details but her smile said it all. She had more than enjoyed the date.

"Oh come on you need to give us more than that. What did you do? Where did he take you?" Julia questioned as all of them leaned in waiting for Skyes answer.

"We went...." Just as she started Anna came through the door and they could all see the worried look on her face as she stared at her phone.

"Anna what's wrong?" Julia asked instantly causing the brunettes head to snap up. As they all saw the tears in her eyes Skyes stomach dropped. "Anna...." Anna's mouth opened but nothing came out. Willow came up to Skye sensing the younger woman's sudden change in attitude. As her hand moved to rest along Skyes shoulder Willow could instantly feel how tense she was. As Skye's phone went off they all turned towards her. She shakily looked at the text she had just received before she let out a breath she hadn't known she was holding.

Ryder: Tell Anna I'm fine.

It was from Ryder but as she showed it to Anna they could all see her not believe it in the slightest.

"He's fucking lying call him." Skye did almost instantly and he answered just as quick.

"I'm fine." They could all hear his voice. "I promise y'all I am."

"You fucking jumped off of a building." Everyone's heads snapped towards Anna.

"I landed on a crash pad." Skyes eyes were trained to the phone as she heard his breath catch in his throat.

"You're lying." Skye was confident in her words causing Anna to look up at her as Ryder sighed.

"I landed on the edge. I'm fine but I dislocated my fucking shoulder and they think I have a concussion." They all could hear the cough that came at the end of his statement.

"You sound like you broke a fucking rib." Anna's comment made him laugh before he groaned.

"I didn't. The smokes just horrible. I've gotta go though. I'll talk to y'all later." Before they could even reply he hung up.

"He's fucking lying." Skye nodded almost instantly at Anna's words.

"Do you really think...?" Julia trailed off as she saw the look on both Skye and Anna's faces. "Alright Skye work your magic with the idiot because he's not going to say a fucking thing to Anna." Skye almost instantly nodded before her eyes went to her phone as they continued on her hair.

Skye: You really think we're that dumb?
Ryder: No. She just fucking worries too much.
Skye: Because you fucking make her you idiot. What is actually going on with you and where are you?
Ryder: You starting to worry about me as well? 😏
Skye: I swear....
Ryder: 🤣🤣 Chill would you?
Skye: Would you answer my fucking questions?
Ryder: I'm in Savannah, I'm headed to the hospital. Like I told y'all I just missed a crash pad and inhaled some nasty ass smoke. I'm fine. I really am. Just need to be checked out.
Skye: If you're lying...
Ryder: I'm not. I promise. If anything it'll be my shoulder that gives me an issue and I'll get to annoy the fuck out of the both of you backstage for a few weeks.
Skye: I want to know what they actually say.
Ryder: I'll let you know when they tell me. We're still on for this weekend. No matter what.

As much as Skye wanted to stay texting Ryder she knew she needed to change for her match. Both Willow and Kris could see her consistently checking her phone as she stretched.

"Give it to one of us while you're out there. If anything happens we'll let you know." Skye almost instantly handed Kris her phone at her words. "But nothings going to happen but you killing it tonight." A smile appeared along Skyes lips as she nodded. Quickly the younger woman told Kris the passcode before she was called for her match.

"Anything?" Skye asked the second she saw Kris. When Kris' head shook Skye let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding.

"Talk to Tony. He'll let you get on the road early so you can figure out what's going on. Anna's already left with Jack." Skye nodded a grateful smile along her lips at the advice. "But change first. Don't think any hospital would deem that appropriate attire because you'd give him a heart attack."

"I wouldn't...." She tried to bite back her smirk but it didn't work.

"Did you show him your patreon?" The smirk fully appeared along Skyes lips before she laughed as she walked away. "Oh my god you are falling hard for him." Kris' words made her turn around and she could see that Skyes smirk had turned to a smile.

"And he's falling harder." She said with a laugh before Kris couldn't help her smile.

"As it fucking should be." Skye nodded before she continued on her way back to the locker room to change. By the time she was done she could hear her phone ringing in her pocket. Quickly she answered it.

"S-Skye...." Ryders voice was not like usual. It sounded weak almost broken and that was confirmed when she heard him sniffle. "I-I...." The words were caught in his throat.

"What hospital are you at?" He sucked in a shaky breath.

"A-Anna can't know." Though she couldn't tell his head had fallen into his hands. "I-I just.... I need you Skye." A muffled sob escaped his lips. Skye knew better than to ask what was wrong so instead she asked Ryder what she needed to know.

"I won't tell Anna. Just tell me where you're at."
