Running into the Fire (Skye Blue x OC)

Skye curled into Ryders warmth as the cold of the morning chilled her body. Even in his sleep his arm wrapped around her pulling her closer to him. They had fallen asleep watching a movie, their backs against the headboard as she had all but made sure that he would stay upright so he wouldn't mess his shoulder up even more. Carefully she leaned into him as her head tucked into his neck. When she pulled the covers up she could feel his lips press to the top of her head.

"Go back to sleep." He slowly nodded at her tired words as she curled into him even more.

"You cold?" She nodded. "So am I." He groaned earning a laugh from her. "But I'm so fucking comfortable I don't want to move."

"Same." She said as she buried into him careful of the arm he had in a sling. The arm around her tightened as his head turned. When his nose buried into her hair she couldn't help the long sigh she released.

"Why are you the warm one for once?" He commented before her arms wrapped around his midsection drawing a sigh from him.

"Because you've got no shirt on." She reminded him as her fingers inadvertently ran along the skin along his side. When her fingers hit a spot she could feel him jump before a groan escaped his lips. "Fuck I'm sorry Ryder."

"I'm just ticklish...." He sunk down a bit lower before he turned and buried into her shoulder. She didn't even hesitate to wrap her arms around his neck. "I know I can't stay like this for long but you're so fucking comfortable."

"Why can't you stay like this?" She questioned as her fingers began to run through his hair. Almost instantly he sighed as he relaxed even more into her.

"Because I don't want to crush you." Skye couldn't help but laugh.

"You realize that my job has people fall on me all day. You laying on me like this is nothing. If anything it's actually quite comfortable." He looked up at her for a moment and she couldn't help the fact that her lips met his.

"Just let me know if you need me to move." Her arms simply tightened around him as his head went back to resting along her shoulder. "Fuck you're comfortable."

"You've said that." He chuckled as he nodded.

"And...?" Her lips pressed to his cheek.

"You shouldn't be talking. Even with having to watch your arm you were so fucking comfortable last night." He chuckled.

"Don't know how...." She couldn't help her giggle.

"You were warm and cuddly. Nothing better than that." He all but melted into her as her fingertips gently kneaded along his neck. "You sure your shoulders alright like this?"

"It's uh...." He couldn't help but realize that his shoulder was resting along her chest. "Shall we say in a good spot...." Skye took a moment to realize what he meant before she started laughing.

"That's a good choice of words." He chuckled lightly. "But it doesn't hurt?" He shook his head.

"Not at all. Quite comfy actually...." She flicked his ear. "Fine I'll stop talking about it if you do."

"You're the one that started it." Ryder chuckled.

"No you were...." She looked at him for a moment before she knew he was right. "We're not going back to sleep are we?" He questioned changing the subject.

"No.... But we're also not leaving this bed until we're starving and ready to get food." He chuckled.

"Fine by me. There's a place in town that's been here since we were kids. Best place for coffee and breakfast." She groaned.

"I cannot wait for coffee." He chuckled as he nodded. "But we're not moving."

"Fine by me." He said quietly as his head tucked back into her shoulder. "Could stay here all day." Her lips met his cheek.

"So could I. You've finally defrosted me." He laughed at her words as he nodded. "Tell me something Ryder...." He hummed a response. "Do we have to get in the car today because I'm so over the car...."

"If we want to get groceries yes but if you're fine with just eating out or ordering in all day then we can just walk to where we need." He said as he felt her fingertips slowly trailing along his neck. He couldn't help the sigh as her fingers found their way into his hair, slowly kneading along his scalp. "Are you trying to make me fall back asleep?"

"Maybe.... I mean I am nice and warm and comfortable so why not...." He didn't even hesitate to get more comfortable as the words escaped her lips.

"Fuck it." She lightly laughed before her lips pressed to his cheek. "Just...."

"Don't even say it. I'm fine as long as you're fine and not fucking your shoulder up." He chuckled.

"I'm fucking perfect right here." She could hear the sleep flowing through his voice once again as her fingers continued to slowly move along his scalp. "This is unfair...."

"No it's not." She replied back almost instantly.

"Yes it is. I'm going to pass the fuck out and you're not going to sleep a wink." Her lips met his temple as her fingers continued to move.

"You need it Ryder. Plus give me like twenty minutes of your warmth and I'll be asleep as well." Slowly he nodded and she could tell she was getting him to fall back to sleep. As he got heavier and heavier along her body, she relaxed into it letting his warmth overtake her. Instead of falling back to sleep though, she opted to carefully reach over and grab her phone. The first thing she saw when the screen lit up was the texts from Anna.

Anna: Please tell me you're with Ryder....
Anna: Skye????
Skye: I told the idiot to text you.... He's with me, we're going to chill for a few days in Senoia.
Anna: Thank god.... We were about to go on a fucking hunt for him. What are you guys doing in Senoia?
Anna: Wait.... Are you two.... 😏
Skye: Fuck off. He needs some time to just forget about everything. I think you know the rest of the details as to why already but just know that he's fine and we're just going to relax for a bit.
Anna: ❤️ Well you both have fun. Make sure he shows you around. Thank you Skye. Honestly. Takes a lot to get him out of his mind, but you've worked miracles with him.

Skye bit back her laugh as she carefully adjusted as Ryder did. Carefully she took a picture of his positioning on her before sending it to Anna knowing that it would stay between them. Skyes caption on the text told Anna everything she needed to know.

Skye: Miracles...? He just needed to admit that he needed a cuddle.
