Running into the Fire (Skye Blue x OC)

"I love you." Ryder just barely heard the words come from Skye. His actions were hesitant and slow. One of his arms carefully wrapped around her midsection as his other hand threaded in her hair. "Y-You don't have to say it back. I know how you don't really say it.... I just.... I needed to say it Ryder." Carefully he pulled away from her before their eyes met.

"I love you Skye." The words came as his thumb carefully moved along her cheek. Her eyes just about lit up as she knew he had meant every word he had said. Everything that had happened that morning prior to that moment was completely erased as his lips met hers. She all but melted into him as their lips slowly and passionately moved together. Carefully she pulled away when she could hear him struggling to breathe. As he caught his breath her lips pressed to his cheek and then jaw.

"You okay?" She asked quietly when she heard him take longer than normal to get his breathing under control.

"Yeah.... This is gonna be the new normal for a bit." Her lips met his cheek once more. As she pulled him in for a tight hug his arms dropped to around her waist and as he barely started to squeeze he could feel her wince. "A-Are...."

"Before you even ask...." She started carefully sensing the hesitation in his question. "When I go in for the show later I'm having them check my hip out." His lips met her cheek.

"Thank you." Her lips pressed to his.

"You don't need to thank me. I was being stupid Ryder. I'm sorry for all of that." He nodded before he gently kissed her jaw.

"Not sleeping makes you do stupid things. It's alright." Ryder could feel himself being moved towards the bed. "What are you...?" His calves hit the bed before he was carefully pushed down. Her lips pressed to his quickly before she climbed into bed. "Oh.... You want more sleep don't you." His shirt was grabbed before he was pulled towards her. It took seconds for him to melt into the bed before his arms wrapped around her. Carefully Skye curled into him as her eyes almost instantly closed. Ryder couldn't help the fact that his eyes closed as well. His fingertips slowly moved through her hair before stopping just along her shoulders as they both fell asleep.

The banging on the door a few hours later woke them both with a jolt. Both couldn't help their groans but Skye was the first to move. Slowly she got out of bed as Ryder sat up with another groan. As he did he could see her slowly trying to stretch her hip as she walked.

"We slept too long I'm sorry." Skye said the second she saw Anna and Julia.

"Well quit fucking around we need to go or we're all going to be fucking late." The blonde said quickly.

"Then help me please because...." Skyes voice dropped so Ryder wouldn't hear. "My hip is fucking killing me."

"You're so gonna need an injection." Anna commented earning a nod from the other brunette. "Well that is if you didn't break anything...."

"I didn't break anything. It's just a fucking bruise." Skye grumbled back before Julia pushed her way into the room.

"Whatever it is we'll figure it out but right now you need to get whatever shit you need to bring together." She said as she looked at Skye. "And you.... Just get ready." Ryder chuckled as he slipped a hoodie on before placing a hat on his head.

"I'm good. It's just her now." Anna eyed him for a moment.

"Have you taken your pills?" He avoided her gaze causing Skye to answer her question.

"No. He hasn't." A groan escaped his lips. "Ryder...." She knew he was being stubborn. He huffed before walking to the nightstand and grabbing the bottles.

"I need to eat before I take the fucking horse tranquilizers." He said as he looked between them all. He could tell they all were unconvinced. "I will take them. I just need food." Anna's arms crossed. "I swear.... Look at the fucking bottles." He tossed them at Anna who effortlessly caught them.

"Okay.... He's not lying...." Anna threw them back to him before he slipped them in his hoodie pocket. "But we're getting you food and you're taking those right after." Though his eyes rolled he nodded at Anna's words. "Now help your girlfriend."

"I'm fine it's all here.... But one of you needs to carry it." Anna didn't even hesitate to step forwards grabbing Skyes bag as she pushed Ryders hand away.

"I can carry a fucking bag." He commented earning an eye roll from all of them.

"No you can't, that bag isn't light." He tried to protest but Skye didn't let him. As Anna and Julia walked out of the room he was turned around and gently pushed. "Come on Ryder." Without any hesitation his arm slipped around her shoulders and they walked out of the room and to the elevators.

"Look at the cuties Anna." Both of them laughed at Julia's words while they rode the elevator down.

By the time they got to the arena for Full Gear they were nearly an hour later. Skye and Julia immediately went to where they were needed while Anna got Ryder to catering. Once he had eaten and taken his pills they slowly walked towards where Skye and Julia would be.

"You sure everything's alright with you Ryder?" Anna questioned quietly as she could hear him start to get out of breath.

"Y-Yeah." His words were unconvincing and they both knew it. "I-I...." He stopped to lean against a wall needing a moment to get a full breath in.

"Ryder...." Anna tone was full of concern.

"I-I lost a lot of my lung function Anna. There's a bunch of scarring in my lungs and I need to see a specialist to see what the next steps are." She stared at him for nearly five minutes taking each bit of information in. Seeing how in shock she was Ryder took a step forward before his arms wrapped around Anna. She couldn't help her tears. "I'll be alright Anna.... I promise." She nodded into his chest as she continued to cry. His hand slowly ran along her back. "I told Skye I loved her." Her head all but snapped back so she could look at him.

"You did what?!" There was a smile growing along her face as she questioned him. Gently he let her go.

"You heard me." Ryder was smashed into a hug a loud groan escaping his lips.

"Anna don't crush my boyfriend please." Skye commented drawing both of their attentions. That's when Anna separated from him and smashed into Skye. "What the fuck did he tell you?"

"He told me what he said to you." Anna whispered into Skyes ear. "I'm so fucking happy for you." A smile grew along Skyes lips. "Now.... Enough with the hugs.... Have you gotten checked out?"

"Was just on my way there. I was just trying to see where you both were." She moved towards Ryder who gently wrapped his arm around her shoulders as she leaned into him.

"Alright well no more fucking around or you'll piss Julia off even more. So go get that cleared and I'll meet y'all back here." Skye nodded before her and Ryder started off towards medical.

"You told her what you said earlier...?" She questioned as she looked up at him. Ryders eyes met Skyes for a moment before he spoke.

"She was going to find out eventually.... Thought it would be better from me because she wasn't expecting it."
