"Ready?" Ryder questioned once Skye had walked out of the bedroom. She nodded as a smile appeared on her lips as she looked over at him. He truly looked relaxed as he leaned into the cushions of the couch. Both had opted for casual clothing, jeans and short sleeved shirts. While Skye had opted to slip a hoodie on to keep her warm, Ryder had slipped into a flannel. What she hadn't expected though was to see him in a backwards ball cap something she had never seen him wear before.

"That's new...." He looked at her confused for a moment before she pointed towards his hat.

"Can't be assed wearing one while I'm running because they always fall off and any time else I'm not casual enough to wear one. Is it an issue?" She shook her head.

"Nope just wish I had brought one." She said with a smile before she offered him her hand. He took it and just as she thought she was going to help pull him up he pulled her into him.

"You really shouldn't have let me sleep that long." He commented as she moved to carefully sit in his lap.

"You needed it Ryder." His lips met her cheek.

"I may have but now I just want to sleep all day." She lightly laughed as she adjusted the sling along his shoulder. "I think I've got a hat around here though somewhere if you want it."

"I'm alright. We'll find something while we're in town." She said with a smile before her lips pressed to his cheek. "You're cute though."

"Where's the hidden mirror that you're looking at?" He questioned as he looked over his shoulder. She couldn't help her laugh.

"It's right...." She leaned forwards. "Here." Her lips met his and she instantly felt his palm cup her cheek. She carefully leaned into him as their lips slowly moved together.

"You're so fucking cute." Her lips pressed to his once more.

"Nope. That would be you." She said as she slipped from his lap causing him to laugh.

"Now you're just talking out your ass." She smirked.

"Am I now?" He laughed as he nodded. "You wish I was."

"As nice as your ass is...." He caught himself and when he started to turn red she couldn't help her giggle.

"I have a nice ass eh?" When he saw her smirk he couldn't help but double down.

"Yes. Yes you do." Her smirk got wider before she turned and walked towards the door. Just as his eyes flicked to her ass she turned catching him.

"Are you coming with or are you just going to enjoy the view?" He chuckled as he stood up. She saw a smirk appear along his lips as he moved towards her.

"Think I might just do both." When she went to hit his stomach she could feel his hand gently stop her before he kissed the back of it. "Because you care...." She smirked as her hand found its way to the back of his neck.

"No.... No I don't." Skye stated before she tiptoed and her lips pressed to Ryders. "Now come on would you.... I'm dying for coffee."

"One second...." As her eyebrow raised she could feel him pull her in for a hug. She didn't even hesitate to melt into him while she carefully returned it. "Alright.... Now I'm good." He said after a few moments but she however remained in the hug for a bit longer.

"You know...." She started as she carefully pulled away. The two started out the door as she continued. "For someone who hates hugs you sure are cuddly...." He chuckled while his hand slipped into hers. Without any hesitation she laced their fingers together and could see him pause for a moment as he looked down. When she felt his thumb gently move along hers she couldn't help the fact that she leaned into him her other hand running along his forearm as they walked towards the main part of the town.

"I'm going to be straight with you. I really do hate hugs.... But with you.... I don't know. I just can't help it." A smile appeared along her lips at his truthful words. "And like cuddles and shit like last night and this morning.... Truly never really enjoyed that.... Until you." She didn't even need to look at him to know there was nothing but the truth in his words.

"Well lucky for you I will take all the hugs and cuddles as you want. Just let me know if I'm ever smothering you." He chuckled.

"Honestly don't think you ever could." He replied with a smile. Her head turned before her lips met his bicep.

"Tell me again why you don't live here." She questioned as they walked the side streets. He chuckled lightly as he looked over at her.

"It's too quiet here. I know it sounds weird but like as much as I loved the town and the people here it just always felt like a place to retire rather than live. But that could also be because a lot of the times I was here was with my grandparents and that was just boring as all hell." She couldn't help her laugh at his words.

"Question for you.... If you don't mind me asking." His hand gently squeezed hers.

"You can ask away. You know I don't mind." She looked up at him for a moment.

"Why did you stay with Anna's family instead of your grandparents?" Her fingers gently played with his as she waited for an answer.

"Her family was always like family to mine and at the time when my parents passed away my grandparents weren't in a place to take care of a child and Anna's mom basically stepped up and said that she would take me because they couldn't. From then on out I would stay with her family for the majority of the time then a few weekends or weeks out of the year I would come here and would spend it with them while they were still alive." He said as they turned down the road that led into town. "After that because I was the last one left in the family I got the place here and it became basically a summer home as ridiculous as that sounds."

"So when Anna says that they're the only family you know...." Skye began before Ryder finished.

"She means it. They're the only family I truly remember." She looked up at him for a moment. "But fuck me is it a crazy ass family." She couldn't help her laughter. "Honestly as crazy as they are though.... Couldn't ask for better people to have grown up with."

"I can only imagine how chaotic but amazing that had to have been." He chuckled.

"It was something that's for sure." She couldn't help her laugh as they finally arrived at the cafe he had told her about.

"I'm paying this time...." When she saw him roll his eyes, she made sure she kept a hold of his hand so he couldn't grab his wallet.

"You're cheating." His comment made her laugh.

"I'm getting my way for once." He chuckled and shook his head. "And don't even think about just ordering a water.... That won't fly with me. I know you're hungry and want coffee."

"I wasn't going to do that." He said with a light laugh as she leaned into them while they waited in line. "I'll be honest though when it comes to coffee I usually let Anna order for me because I just don't care as to what I get as long as it's as sweet as it is strong."

"So what you're saying is you like frilly drinks but won't admit it?" He chuckled and nodded. "Fine by me as long as I get to try what I order for you."

"That's fine by me. Just don't get too crazy." She lightly laughed and shook her head.

"Wouldn't do that." There was a smile along his lips as he nodded.

"I know." The two finally made it to the counter, ordering what they wanted before they carefully moved to the side to wait.

"Everything alright?" She questioned as she saw him adjust his shoulder. He nodded.

"Just a bit...." Before he could even finish both of them were bumped into by the same rude person. As Ryder shot the person a glare he carefully caught Skyes arm when he saw her turn and take a protective step in front of him. "It's not worth it." He said quietly but when she heard the pain in his voice she couldn't help her words.

"Seriously...?" The person that had hit them simply rolled their eyes, grabbed his coffee and walked out. "Fucking jackass."

"Always has been. Always will be." Skye turned to look at Ryder for a moment. "He's been a bully since we were kids. Always does the same shit. Just best to ignore it then feed into it." She laughed before responding.

"Ryder if he does it again he's going to see why you don't fuck with someone from Chicago."
