Running into the Fire (Skye Blue x OC)

"Ryder you're driving." As the words slipped from Anna's lips she threw her car keys at Ryder who effortlessly caught them. As he groaned under his breath Skye had to bite back her laughter.

"If I'm driving then I get a choice in the music. I'm not getting suffocated by Taylor Swift for hours because of you two." When Anna laughed he groaned audibly knowing that there was something up her sleeve.

"It's not just us. We have to pick up Julia on the way." Skye hit him when he groaned again.

"Don't hit me. I have to drive and am going to be suffocated by bad music." Her eyes met his.

"I'm sitting in the passenger seat. Music is up to me. So don't start or I'll make sure you hate it." Anna had to bite back a laugh as she saw his attitude immediately change at Skyes words.

"I-I thought that...." He pointed over at Anna.

"She's your girlfriend and you're driving. Passengers seat is hers now." Anna said with a laugh before he looked over at Skye who had a slight smirk along her lips.

"I'll shut up then...." Ryder said as his cheeks turned slightly red. Anna couldn't help her laughter before she turned and got into the car.

"Julia's expecting us to be there in twenty." She commented as her door shut. He shook his head laughing before he turned to Skye.

"Ready?" When she signaled for him to wait a second his eyebrow raised before she tiptoed and her lips met his.

"Now I am." A smile appeared along his lips at her words. "And I promise I won't suffocate you with shitty music." He pulled her in for a quick hug knowing that if it were longer they'd get yelled at by Anna.

"Thank you." Her lips pressed to his cheek before she pulled away.

"Stop making out! We need to go!" Without any hesitation both of them extended their middle fingers towards Anna. The two exchanged a glance before they finally got into the car.

"You know patience is a thing right?" Ryder dodged both women's slaps as he laughed.

"Start the car and let's go idiot." Anna said earning another laugh from him as he did what she had told him to. As he drove she couldn't help but notice that Skye hand had slipped into his allowing him to play with her fingers. Anna knew that in the past when he drove his fingers would either tap along the wheel or the shifter to keep himself occupied. Skye had realized early on what he did and opted to offer him her hand which always kept him distracted and from tapping which ultimately annoyed them.

"Third one on the left." Skye said as she could see Ryder turn to ask them both a question. "GPS is stupid with her house." He gently squeezed her hand before pulling into the driveway where Julia was waiting.

"You two stay we don't need to be any later." Anna said before she got out to help Julia with her things.

"You know you call her your sister but she's more like a mother." He couldn't help his laugh.

"Well aren't you two cute." Julia said as her and Anna got back into the backseat.

"Oh fuck off." Skye said with a laugh.

"If it means he's not tapping then I will." Ryder rolled his eyes as he started off on their road trip to Dynamite. "Alright we need music...." Julia stated after a few minutes of them just listening to the basic radio. Skye gently squeezed his hand before it slipped from his so she could put on some music. As she did the two in the backseat could see him fighting the urge to tap along the gear shifter.

"Ryder just tap we're only giving you shit." The second the words slipped from Anna's mouth his fingers started to tap. Once Skye had found a good playlist she put it on before her hand found it's way back into Ryders. For the longest time they all simply enjoyed the music and the sights along the side of the road. That was until the music switched to a Christmas song.

"Don't you dare." Ryder said as Skye went to change the song.

"Wait.... Wait.... Wait.... All this time and I'm just now finding out that you're like them and could listen to Christmas music all year?" He couldn't help his chuckle and smile.

"Oh he's worse than us.... Just wait." Anna commented earning another laugh from him.

"I am not." She scoffed before Julia cut in.

"You fucking are. You've been listening to Christmas music for months." He rolled his eyes.

"I have not. I only started last month." Skye couldn't help her laugh as her head shook.

"Y'all are nuts." Ryder looked over at her for a moment.

"Tell me you're not a Grinch...." Their eyes met and he could already tell her answer. "Oh we're changing that."

"I'm not a Grinch. I just prefer Christmas music during December." He shook his head while laughing.

"That makes you a Grinch. Christmas music can be played any time." Skye laughed and shook her head.

"I'm not listening to Christmas music in July." He scoffed.

"But that's the best time...." She laughed, her head still shaking. "I'm going to convince you otherwise.... Now change this shit and let Anna put on a good Christmas album." When Skye groaned he looked over at her.

"One song not an entire album." She tried to reason causing him to groan before he reluctantly agreed.

"Fine. But I'm choosing." She nodded before he told her the song.

"Don't you even start. It's one song." He said as he could see her gearing up to say something.

"Fine...." She groaned jokingly before she eyed him as he started to sing along. As her mouth went to open to say something Julia hit her causing her to look into the backseat.

'Don't say a thing.' Anna mouthed and that was when they could all hear him hit the high note. As Skyes eyes went wide the two in the back couldn't help but laugh. 'He'll never admit he sings.' Skyes head shook in awe as Ryder perfectly sang along to the song. Her eyes flicked to their hands as she could feel him playing with her fingers as he sung.

"Alright.... You've won me over. Stay with this album or is there something else?" A smile appeared along Ryders lips before he answered.

"This is fine."
