"How was Senoia?" Anna questioned Ryder as the two went to grab coffee outside of the arena for Dynamite.
"Honestly fucking needed that." He admitted to her as they walked into the coffee shop.
"Surprised she put up with you for as long as she did." He rolled his eyes at her tease. "I'm only kidding. She's definitely a good fit for you. Looks past all your weirdness." Another eye roll came from him before she ordered drinks for all who had asked. "Have you told her about...?"
"About what?" He questioned as they moved to the side. When their eyes met he knew what she meant. "Not yet but to be honest I think she's starting to suspect it."
"She reads a lot more into people than she lets on. Should just tell her. She's not going to run away." Ryder looked over at her for a moment.
"You realize it's not just a topic you bring up in normal conversation." He commented earning a laugh from Anna as she nodded.
"I do. But I also realize that you talk to Skye more than you've talked to anyone else so...." She could hear a sigh escape his lips. She went to say more, but he was saved from it by them being called for their order. "Just tell her Ry. I really don't want to have to tell her because she questions it."
"Please don't." Anna nodded.
"I won't. You know that. But you shouldn't wait that long...." Ryder nodded.
"I know." He replied quietly before they walked back towards the arena. Anna couldn't help but be grateful of the fact that those that recognized her kept to themselves and allowed her to peacefully walk back.
"How's the shoulder by the way?" She questioned once they were inside.
"Still fucking annoying." He commented. "Didn't help that we ran into Randy."
"You're fucking kidding me." He shook his head. "How'd she handle his dumbass antics?"
"She nearly fought him." Anna raised an eyebrow at him. "He kept blindsiding us and pushing us when she confronted him he said his usual bullshit about me dating what's her face way back when and then when he pushed me I thought Skye was going to break his arm." He could feel a pair of lips on his cheek before a coffee was grabbed from the tray in his hands.
"I would've if it weren't for...." Anna interrupted.
"Dawson wasn't it?" Ryder laughed as he nodded. "God nothing has changed in that town."
"Not in the slightest." Skye looked between them both.
"Is there really that much history with all of you there?" He nodded at her words. "Yeah now I really understand why it's just a whatever home."
"It's one of those places that there's so many memories you can't get rid of it but you only wanna visit in bursts." Anna said with a laugh. "You two have fun though. I can take the coffees." He raised an eyebrow at her before she took the coffees from him and went on her way.
"I need you for something...." Ryders eyes met Skyes as a smile appeared along her lips. "Nothing bad I promise."
"As long as I can still drink my coffee I'm fine with whatever." He watched her for a moment as she looked around, he questioned it before she tiptoed and her lips pressed to his.
"You can still drink your coffee. I just need your opinion...." He raised an eyebrow at her. "Nothing bad they just want me to decide on my next gear and I just cannot figure out which one to go with."
"No matter what it'll be hot." The words came out before he realized and she had to bite back her laughter as he turned red. "I-I mean I can help."
"You're fucking cute." She commented with a smile before she took his hand and they walked towards the costume department. "So there's a few options but I just can't decide what I like the most so it's up to you. Whatever catches your eye or whatever you like more is what we're going with because nobody else is helpful. They're all at a dead fucking tie." He chuckled lightly as he nodded.
"As long as you don't kill me if I pick wrong." She laughed at his words.
"I could never." A smile appeared along his lips.
"Alrighty then. Show me what I'm working with." She stopped him just before they walked into the makeshift room. When his eyebrow raised she lightly laughed before she grabbed his collar and pulled him down to his height. Her lips pressed to his and he chuckled lightly. "You could've just asked." He said with a smile earning a laugh from her.
"More fun this way." She said before she flattened out his shirt. As she straightened his sling she could see Kyle Fletcher her ex-boyfriend looking over at them. Their eyes met and he raised an eyebrow at her. A silent question was asked before she nodded. A small smile appeared along his lips before he chuckled and nodded as he walked away.
"Everything alright?" Ryder questioned snapping Skyes attention back to him.
"Oh yeah Kyle was just behind you. I'll have to introduce you to him and the boys one of these days." He nodded at her words before she motioned towards the makeshift room. She had told him about how her last relationship had mutually ended because they had simply grown apart and were better friends. While Kyle had started seeing someone relatively quick after the breakup, Skye had taken her time. It was nearly six months after the breakup that she started talking with Ryder.
Ryder followed Skye into the room. As she excitedly showed him the gear designs he could feel her lean into him while he carefully looked over her shoulder. As she went through them he could tell she liked one more than the others and it just so happened to be the same one he liked. Carefully he reached around her, allowing her to lean into him even more as he pointed to one of the designs.
"This one." He could see the smile appear along her lips before she tiptoed and she kissed his cheek.
"Thank you." He chuckled as he nodded before she animatedly began to speak with the seamstress. When she noticed his arm still carefully around her she couldn't help but play with his fingers as the two women spoke about the gear.
"The crown is still happening right?" When Skye nodded she could see Ryder look at her with his eyebrow raised.
"You'll see." She said as she gently squeezed his hand. The conversation with the seamstress continued for another few minutes before the two left the makeshift room.
"A crown?" She lightly laughed at his words.
"You'll see." She replied with a smile earning a groan from him. "Have some patience. Nobody's seen it all together yet. You can be the first one though...." There was a smirk along her lips as she spoke. When she looked over at him she could see him biting the inside of his cheek. "How does that sound?" For a second Skye could see him bite back a smirk before Ryder responded.
"Sounds like a fair trade off."
