It was the next day and Jim had to go to school.

Thankfully, Barbara had a day off and she spent the entire morning and afternoon relaxing.

After getting a good shower, eating a delicious brunch made by her son.

She decided to do some research about strange magic amulets and trolls.

Barbara didn't get many answers from the Internet.

It was exhausting and rubbed her eyes.

The only thing she got from it was rumors and theories about the existence of trolls, such as footprints or boulders covered in moss that were claimed to have moved.

There was also a poor quality image of a shadowy figure hidden amongst the trees and bushes, similar to big foot.

Other than that, there wasn't much going on.

She got a text from Jim that he is going to hang out with Toby.

At least she wouldn't worry about where her son has gone.

After a while, the woman yawned and decided to give up the research.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the front door.

Wondering who it was, she walked over and opened the door.

There, standing in front of her was Lucas, her stepbrother.

"Lucas? You're here already?" Barbara questions.

He walks in and hugs her.

"Didn't you get my message? I said I would come in a day or two. Also..no hi, hello, or good to see you?" Lucas chuckled and smiled.

Barbara sighs and hugs him back.

"Sorry, I was a bit...busy with a lot of stuff from work. Stress and all that. You know how it is. But, uhh, Hi Lucas. It's good to see you."

The two stepped away.

"Do you need help bringing in your luggage?" She asked.

"Yeah sure. I need to get everything in because I am exhausted from all that driving."

Lucas stretched his limbs. And so Barbara and her stepbrother headed towards the car and unloaded his stuff into the house.

Once everything was unloaded, Lucas shut the trunk of his car and headed into the house.

"Well, It's good to be back! Don't you think sis?"

Lucas walked over to the couch and relaxed onto the cushions.

Barbara hummed in agreement and headed to the kitchen.

A few moments of making some coffee, the woman heard some noises outside.

She turned her head at the window and could have sworn she saw a blue figure.

Oh no.

The nerves started to crawl inside and she felt the amulet begin to glow, taking it out of her pocket.

"What? Not now." Barbara whispered in a panic.

Then, Lucas came into the kitchen.

"Hey, sis. You want to help me with- uhhh what is that?" He froze and pointed at the amulet in her hand.

Before she could explain, Barbara felt the amulet take over and a bright light flashed the entire kitchen.

Lucas shielded his eyes from the bright light and when he looked back, his eyes went wide.
