In the Hero's Forge Crystal attempted to use the staff to open a portal, but it was becoming rather difficult. She grunted and spun and swung the staff around, but nothing worked, then she got frustrated.
"Ugh! Why won't the shadow staff make a portal?"
"Slow down, young one. You must learn to empower the staff itself." Draal spoke as he approached her.
"Focus, imbue it with your will. The stronger the emotions, the greater the power." He explained.
Lucas let out his frustration with his wingman, Aarrrghh, who was blocking his punches.
However, the large troll slightly winces from the pain underneath his arm each time the green troll punches his left hand.
"I don't get it. Crystal gets to handle the super-sweet, megamatic portal staff and she didn't contribute a lot, while I almost melted in lava acid, and we almost could've been eaten alive by savage trolls, in Florida! Not only that, but I've been by Barbara's side since day one and what do I get?" Lucas groaned.
"Careful now." Draal cautiously spoke to Crystal as she swung it near him, nearly wearing her patience out.
"Mmm... got me, wingman." Aarrrghh smiled at the green troll, attempting to cheer him up.
"Aw, buddy!"
Suddenly, their attention turned to Crystal, who screamed in frustration.
"Why won't this thing work?"
That is when the staff turned black and it summoned a tiny portal.
"She did it." Aarrrghh rumbled.
"No way! How did she do that?" Lucas quietly complained.
"Yes! I did it! I made a portal!" The girl happily exclaimed, then the portal shrunk and disappeared.
"Yeah, if we need to teleport someone small like an olive or a baby mouse." The green troll muttered and crossed his arms.
"What did you just say?" She glared at him.
"I said you have an awesome staff and you totally deserve it. That's all." He decided to say as to not make the girl angry.
"Oh, really. How about I try out how "awesome" it is."
Crystal swung her staff at him and he dodged it.
"Hey, hey!" Lucas yelps when she manages to hit him.
"Uh, should we stop them?" Aarrrghh questions with worry as the two started getting into a heated brawl.
"Uh... nah. This is the Forge. Let them spar." Draal shrugs.
"-And if the Trollhunter were here-"
"But Barbara's not here. You know where she is? She's getting chewed out right now by ghosts because we failed to get the Killstone!" Lucas complained.
"Ow!" He yelped when Crystal whacked him once more.
"We'll get it back." Barbara spoke, trying to reassure the spirits.
"You said your friends would make you stronger!" One of the ghostly Trollhunters yelled.
"It's one setback!"
"Setback?"
"Angor Rot will carve her to pieces!"
"Is she stupid?"
