"I'm the author of Beloved Jade."

"What?"

"Let me... formally introduce myself," he said before standing up from the stone well, a graceful smile settled across his gentle face.

"I am Agen, the god of beauty," he grinned, revealing his perfect set of pearly white teeth, "And a part-time writer."

What?

"Agen?" I muttered, remembering the six gods and goddesses we were taught at school back in my real world... and I even have memories of Catherine knowing about them.

The author of the well-known novel 'Beloved Jade' from my real world is a... god?

I do remember the author from my real world keeps their identity hidden because they said they wanted to be anonymous. But I could've... nobody could've ever thought they were a god!? More so, the god of beauty!?

Wala sa sariling napaatras ako ng hakbang, the cold waters splashed on my step which sent shivers that crawled up to my skin. The genuineness of the cold feeling made me realize this isn't a dream.

Maya-maya'y mahina na lang akong natawa sa sarili. I've already transmigrated from one world to another. I've already experienced such a 'fantasy' myself that I shouldn't even question situations like this if it's real or not at this point.

All I could do is continue to be shocked or surprised as I take it all in... that such fantasies have really become my reality.

"Why...?" it started as a whisper, na nilakasan ko, "Why did you bring me here?"

"That's a very interesting story, child. You see," he said, "You were the one who came to me, your soul I mean."

"What?"

"Your soul came from here," he pointed at the water well beside him, "You somehow entered my abode without me knowing, which was supposed to be impossible but here you are," his hands gestured at me.

"I didn't know what to do with a wandering soul like you which somehow made its way to my abode, and I also took interest in you because like what I said, it's impossible for any entity to enter this abode of mine without me knowing but you did. So I wanted to investigate about that," he continued.

My eyes moved to the well made out of cobblestone. It looks so clean and well-maintained with bits of moss and plants on its body na mukhang sinadya para maging disenyo.

He says I was a wandering soul who was able to enter his abode from there?

Napalunok ako, "I was a wandering soul?"

He pursed his lips, humming as he nodded his head, "Hmm."

"Does that really mean...?"

His golden brown eyes met mine, "Yes, you're really dead."

Napayuko ako, nawalan ng enerhiya. I knew I died but hearing someone else say it, confirming it, hits different in a way that it's enough to put me in an existential crisis.

Rinig ko siyang tumikhim at mas naging malumanay pa ang boses, "I didn't know what to do with your wandering soul, so I just decided to put you as a random character on one of my novels, which happened to be 'Beloved Jade'. I could've just sent you out on your way but I'm really curious as to how you were able to get in here."

"How did I die?"

"Oh."

I raised my eyes to look at him, seeing his lips formed into an 'o' as he realized something, "I actually never really bothered to check... maybe I should. It could give me a clue about my little dilemma."

My expression deadpanned. Is he really a god?

He looked at me innocently as if he heard my thoughts, "Yes, I'm really a god. I just had other more important matters to tend to that's why it slipped my mind," he crossed his arms in front of his chest and looked away with furrowed brows and pouted lips na tila nagtatampo, "And no, I can't read your thoughts. It's just obvious on your face."

I sighed. To a god like him, measly lives of humans are probably not worth their time when they have a whole eternal life ahead of them... which is pretty sad.

This time, I was able to calm down a bit, "So you wrote 'Beloved Jade'?"

Like a switch has been flipped, muling gumaan at lumiwanag ang ekspresyon niya, "Yes. It was actually my very first novel. The novel that made me realize I love writing."

"You don't mind that I'm changing the plot of your story?"

"Oh, I don't mind," he giggled, "Beloved Jade was not just a story I wrote, but also another world I created into a reality, with its own humans, creatures and nature. I simply set out a path for them, however, it is their choice if they want to follow that path or not. It just so happens they unconsciously follow it, even if they have their own thoughts and volition, until you came along and gave them new ideas, which I find fun and interesting because it makes them unpredictable. Well, you did come from another world so of course you'd have an effect on how things would work there."

I observed him for a while, "Was my original world also created by a god?"

"If we're talking about your world," sandali siyang napaisip, "Ah, yes. If memory serves me correct, your world was created by Mordy~?"

My forehead creased, "Mordy~?"

"Oh," bahagya siyang natawa sa sarili, "I meant Mordall."

Mordall...? The god of being?
