Mia and I sat there hugging each other, till she pulled back and laid down. "Will you stay please, I don't want you to go." Mia said as she reached for my hand, I nodded and laid across from her facing her. "Mia" "Yes Laurie" "I love you so dearly." She came closer to me and kissed me, I kissed her back as we both laid there slowly drifting to sleep.

I woke up that morning to Mia shifting in her sleep, she looked so beautiful in her sleep. I smiled as I looked outside at the sun shining through the windows. I got up slowly careful not to wake Mia, I headed downstairs to find my father in the map room. "Theodore, please come here." I walked into the map room, "Yes father?" He looked at me, "You're going to go live with your uncle in France, you're leaving next week." "But father what about M-" "You will get nowhere only thinking about that girl." He said sternly, "You will not put up a fight, Mia is going home in two weeks she'll be fine with her father and the Marches."
The rest of that day was a blur, I stayed home while Mia went to play piano with Beth. I only came down for meals because I didn't have to talk nor say anything and no one would have a problem with it.

The next day we were invited to go to the beach with the Marches, Mia seemed to be thrilled about it the closer we got there. "Come on Beth let's go!" Mia said yanking Beth out of the buggy, Amy and Meg following. Jo stayed in the buggy. "Have you told her yet?" Jo asked me, "I did tell her Jo, she loves me back." "Why do you say it so sorrowful Laurie?" I took a minute to breathe "Jo, I have to leave. I have to go live in France with my uncle and I'm leaving next week." Jo's eyes widened "Do you know when you'll be back?" I shook my head dreadfully. "I don't know Jo." I felt tears well up in my eyes, "I really love her Jo, my father seems to hate her out of nowhere. But he can't love her the way I do."

Mia's pov

I dragged Beth to the ocean line and found a rock, I threw it hard enough that it jumped across the water about 4 times then never came back up. Beth tried hers only going about 3, "Best two out of three?" I questioned, Beth and I just laughed. "I won!" Beth cheered, "Correction, I let you win!" I crossed my hands and looked around, 'where's Laurie?' I thought to myself. I decided to go sit by Amy who was drawing, "What are you drawing?" She smiled, "You and Beth, I love seeing you guys together again!" I furrowed my eyebrows "I don't look like that do I?" Amy laughed "Do you doubt my capabilities as a great artist?" "Better question, are you finished?" She smiled "You have to be patient!" I gave her a sad look.
