"Mia, come on we have to go!" Amy called, I was finally able to go to France. I couldn't wait on our way there I soon learned that we were invited to a party (well Amy was) I was told I could tag along. I have never been to a fancy party before, at least that I remember. By the time we arrived in France we had 2 hours to get ready, I was quite nervous not knowing what to expect. I slid on my satin pink dress that I found in my mother's closet and me and Amy headed out the door.

We arrived at the party it was quite crowded but I managed to stay by Amy. "Mia come here for a minute please!" Amy called, "Before we talk to anyone do not shake hands, do not talk about flowers, and do not even try to yawn in front of people okay." I nodded quickly Amy scares me a bit when she's like this. I soon met all the princes and the queen of France I struggled to talk to them since I had little knowledge about the monarchy, I just nodded my head every once in a while.

After I had a few conversations I looked around for Amy who had disappeared, I started to walk around the ballroom searching for her. With no luck I started looking around a bit more, I got a bit nervous as I thought I looked everywhere. I decided that it might be easier if I just stayed in one spot so I found a room that was secluded from everyone and walked into it. I made sure that no one was there and sat on the couch, after a while I noticed that the party was getting louder and louder. I watched someone walk into the room and stand by the fireplace I assumed they didn't see me.

I slowly got up trying not to make a sound and walked past them to peek out the curtain to see if I could spot Amy. "Huh." I turned around to find Amy behind me, "There you are you scared me!" I proclaimed giving her a hug, "Mia, I would like you to meet Fred Vaughn." I pulled away from the hug and held my hand out, "Amelia March, nice to meet you!" I noticed my hand out in front of me I quickly pulled it away and gave him a slight curtsy in its place.  "Amelia March is it?" He asked, "I haven't ever heard of Amelia March." I smiled, "I'm new to the family." Amy smiled at me as she explained how we needed to talk to one more person and then we would be leaving.

I soon met Laurie's uncle who seemed very sweet compared to Laurie's father. "Now Amelia, I hear you are good friends with Laurie?" I nodded my head as he continued, "How would you like to come visit sometime?" I looked over at Amy, "It's your decision!" She stated, "I would love to."
