For someone who usually disliked socialite events like tonight, Yunho knew he smiled too widely.
He had never tried this hard before. He met the name promised by Yeosang, James Thomas Watkins. Yeosang knew well Yunho was in love with Eden Lake, another horror film by the director. One of the films that received a 'quite positive' review from Yunho, "For a British horror movie, still as cliché as usual, but brutal and extraordinary! You had to watch it!" And until now, Yeosang had never watched it.Yeosang hated horror films with all the logic she had, "They're just made to scare you. Come on, which foolish human pays to make themselves scared?" On a bad day after Yunho's accident where his leg was sprained on a sitcom set he starred in, Yeosang was forced to bring his favorite horror DVDs to the hospital.
Yunho debated back with Yeosang, "The same foolish humans who read angsty stories from translated novels," pointing to a novel written by an American-Chinese descent author about life in the palace that was currently in Yeosang's possession. They ended that debate with Yeosang's annoyed huff.
The mind of the grinning young man on the paparazzi cameras scattered throughout the garden where this party was held returned to where it should be. Yunho cleared his throat softly, then smiled again at a camera snapshot with a smile that looked much more normal than before. He hurried to reach Yeosang, who wore a slightly too tight metallic blue dress, which might make other girls look cheap if they wore it, but somehow Yeosang's aura made the dress look elegant on her body.
"Stop grinning, Yunho!" Yeosang flicked her finger in front of Yunho's face, who couldn't stop smiling. The young man let Yeosang straighten his tie and pat away whatever from Yunho's shoulders covered by a silver suit.
"Do you want to hear what James Watkins said to me? He said I have great potential for this role!" He said, now hugging Yeosang tightly and looking like a five-year-old who ate too much candy before dinner. His chin rested on Yeosang's shoulder, covered by the fabric of her dress.
"Okay, Yunho, come back to earth right now. You really have to stop grinning."
"Come on, Yeosang, you have to admit you're actually obsessed with my grins," Yunho said teasingly, winking at Yeosang's.
Yeosang rolled his eyes in boredom. "I don't know if there's a more polite way to make you stop that maniacal grin. But I remind you, you have a reputation and an image to maintain, okay?" And Yeosang, if not described as a mother overwhelmed by her child's enthusiasm, there is no other explanation more accurate to describe Yeosang trying to loosen Yunho's hug.
Yunho finally stopped hugging Yeosang and tried to adjust his facial expression to not look too creepy. He took a breath and adjusted his lips to smile more appropriately. The shy English actor's smile that seemed too sweet to be on a man's face. Yunho hates it when someone calls him pretty, and even more when photos of him taken at official photoshoots or by fans or paparazzi make him admit that. But right now, Yunho doesn't care, he smiles politely at some other people. Even engaging in small talk with some film critics who appeared at the party.
Even Kim Lip. Yunho was proud of himself for enduring three minutes and listening to the woman brag about some artists she had just met at this party. Usually, Yunho avoided that woman, even if he had to bury himself alive, he would do it. And when he thought he didn't need to do that, the woman suddenly cut her own sentence and asked Yunho, "Ah, I want to ask one thing, what's the point of taking this job, Hunter? I mean, you're gay. You won't get praised for acting as gay, right?"
The young man was stunned for a moment. He hated this. Every time he thought he could move on with life and do something, create something, people would come back to his sexual orientation. As if that were the only thing to remember about him.
