Trust Fund Baby
What the hell are they talking about?
"Talk about bribery," pamilyar ang boses ng babae.
That voice was definitely hers.
May iba pa siyang kasama sa grupo and I recognized most of them to be a part of the play, our play.
"Bee?" Someone suddenly called out my name and everyone turned to me with shock painted all over their faces.
"Oh my God! Narinig mo ba?"
But then, her lips suddenly curved up, flashing me a sly smile.
"Buti naman at narinig mo. It's the truth anyway," Melody blurted out, standing up from her seat. "Ballerine Maeze Castillo, you're just a trust fund baby. You're nothing without it. Even your mom knows that you can't do it without her money."
SLAP!
"Ahh! You bitch!"
I gritted through my teeth as a tear escaped from my eye. "I considered you my friend, Melody."
But, deep down inside, ramdam ko ang bawat salitang sinabi ni Melody. Lalo na 'yong sinabi niyang alam ni mommy na hindi ko kayang maging lead role sa play kaya nag-donate nalang siya to secure my spot.
I can't believe mom would that. Wala talaga siyang bilib sa akin.
She never once believed in me. She would rather pay someone to make me believe that I made it on my own.
I don't even know what to feel right now. More than embarrassment, I felt sick and frustrated and enraged.
"That's enough! Party's over, people!" someone suddenly announced. It was the same guy wearing a white shirt who helped me earlier.
"Kell, bro! Kakasimula pa lang ah!" Reklamo ng isa.
"Aalis ba kayo o tatawag ako ng pulis?" The white shirt guy - Kell warned.
I protested, but Logan's grip on my hand was tighter than a leash.
