Olivia walked into the precinct, her hands shaking in the pockets of her blazer. She still felt sick to her stomach, but hoped it'd pass as the day went on. That it would get easier to hide the little secret that was nestled deep inside.
"You okay?" Fin asked the moment that Olivia walked into the squadroom. Olivia turned to look at him, her eyes wide.
"Huh?"
"I asked if you are okay. You are rarely late, and you are super late today. So, are you okay?" Fin asked again. Olivia nodded slowly, as she tried to not disclose her pregnancy.
"I'm fine, Fin. Thanks for asking," Olivia replied slowly. She gave him a small smile before hightailing it to her office and shutting the door tightly.
Olivia leaned against the door and took a shaky breath, her fingers moving through messy brown bangs. She wanted to tell everyone that she was finally pregnant but knew it was too soon. If she spilled the beans before her pregnancy was considered viable, she was certain that she'd jinx herself and lose the little one she so desperately wanted.

A few difficult cases filled up Olivia's days. She made sure to wear a vest whenever she ran leads with her crew and avoided stressful situations to the best of her ability. Each day, her morning sickness became more of a random occurrence. She started to feel more like herself, but as her twelve-week appointment approached, Olivia got anxious about seeing her baby for the first time.
"Are you going to tell everyone today?" Amanda asked as they waited for Olivia's appointment. Charlotte sat on Olivia's lap as she sucked her thumb.
"If everything goes well, I might. It's going to be hard to disclose to Dodds, but this is all worth it. Charlie is going to be a big sister, and I get to experience carrying our baby," Olivia replied, as she looked at her fiancee. Amanda smiled, before leaning close and kissing Olivia softly.
"Gonna just blurt it out to them?" Amanda questioned, as she went back to the email she was sending.
"Probably. It'll be easier than doing a slow buildup," Olivia replied.
Olivia was called back a few minutes later, and after a nurse took her vitals, a tech came in and started the scan. The baby's heartbeat filled the ears of its mothers, causing tears to well in Olivia's and Amanda's eyes.
"So..." The tech trailed off. She was just about to turn the screen to face Olivia and Amanda but stopped herself. She was quiet as her eyes remained locked on the screen.
"Is everything okay? We just heard the heartbeat..." Olivia asked, her voice shaking.
"Olivia, I'll be right back. Please remain calm," the tech replied, before quickly leaving the room. Olivia rolled her head to face Amanda, tears slipping down her cheeks.
"I knew I shouldn't have gotten excited! Amanda-"
"Liv, the tech needs the doctor to confirm something. I'm sure it is good news, not bad!"
"She told me to remain calm!" Olivia snapped.
"The tech said that because she knew you'd freak out. Please, just relax. It's gonna be okay," Amanda replied, as she took an arm away from Charlotte and used her free hand to caress Olivia's hair.
"You should know that it doesn't work like that! I'm gonna worry no matter what," Olivia huffed. She sat up quickly and grabbed a tissue before wiping the gel from her small swell. She wasn't going to just sit around and wait.
"Where are you going?" Amanda demanded.
"I'm gonna find that tech and make her tell me-" Olivia started, but stopped when the door opened.
"Olivia, please get back on the table. I'm going to clear everything up right now," Dr. Tomlinson smiled softly.

Olivia didn't return to work after her exam. Amanda drove her home, and she went to take a nap. When she woke up, Charlotte was climbing all over her.
"Hi, Charlie," Olivia whispered, as she lifted the baby and held her in the air. Charlotte babbled, her small hands waving quickly through the air.
"Good job, baby! You woke up Mommy," Amanda smiled, as she turned on the overhead light and walked to where Olivia and Charlotte were.
Amanda kissed Olivia a few times before sinking beside her.
"Feeling any better?" Amanda asked.
"Still scared," Olivia admitted.
"I know, babe. But everything will turn out how it's meant to turn out."
"I'm not young, Amanda. Something like this could make me incredibly sick. What if I end up on bedrest for the rest of my pregnancy?" Olivia frowned.
"Then I'll wait on you hand and foot, Liv!"
"We won't have income!" Olivia cried as she forced herself to sit up.
"Liv, things aren't going to happen like that. I'm gonna go back to work soon, and then-"
"Twins, Amanda. We haven't said that word since Dr. Tomlinson told us. We have three kids to plan for, and I am so scared. I can't control the outcome, no matter how hard I try," Olivia frowned. She wiped a tear from her cheek before passing Charlotte to Amanda.
Amanda watched as Olivia swung her legs off the edge of the bed and raked her shaky fingers through her hair.
"This is what was supposed to happen, Liv. We are meant to be moms to three kids. I know it's overwhelming, especially since they will be so close in age, but it's gonna be worth it. Every sleepless night and blowouts," Amanda smiled softly.
Olivia swallowed hard as she turned to look at her fiancee. No matter what was said, Olivia was still scared about having twins. About how much they would cost to take care of, let alone college funds and whatever they would have to pay for childcare. Then she started to think about getting a house to fit their growing family and every other expense she could think of.
"Are you sure that we can do this?" Olivia whispered.
"It will not be easy, but I'm sure we can do this. Charlotte, Thing One, and Thing Two will be incredibly lucky to be our kids," Amanda grinned. Olivia laughed softly as her hand gently ran over her stomach.
