Amanda and Olivia were meant to be mothers. They worked side-by-side to take care of Charlotte and ensure she had everything she needed. The little girl was showered with gifts from Fin, Nick, and even Dodds. By the time Christmas came around, only twelve days after Charlotte was born, Nick and Fin joined the new family at their apartment to celebrate.

"I could have hosted," Fin spoke, as he watched Olivia pull the ham from the oven.

"Fin, it's really not a big deal. Honestly, it makes more sense that it's here because then we didn't have to pack up our entire apartment. Charlie requires so many things that it usually takes us a few hours to pack up everything just to take her to a doctor's appointment," Olivia smiled. She closed the oven and turned to face her friend.

Fin looked her over for a moment before stepping closer to her.

"Motherhood suits you," He whispered since he didn't want anyone to hear the compliment.

"Thank you, Fin. It means a lot," Olivia whispered back, as she reached out and squeezed his shoulder.

"Alright, who wants to hold the baby? I need to help my girl finish dinner," Amanda smiled as she left Charlotte's nursery.

"Dibs!" Fin exclaimed with more excitement than anyone expected.

After Amanda and Olivia finished dinner, plates were filled, and they sat at the small kitchen table and ate. It was a pretty easy Christmas, just like the years before, but everyone had someone to be excited about. Even though Charlotte was a newborn, her first Christmas was something that Amanda and Olivia didn't want to forget.

"So I know we agreed to not do gifts, but I got everyone a little something," Olivia spoke, as she carried a small stack of gifts from her bedroom. She had hidden them under the bed since Amanda was still too sore to snoop under there.

"Liv-" Nick started, but Olivia quickly shushed him.

"Please, don't fight me on this. Everyone sitting around this table... You mean the world to me. Fin, you've been with me through everything... Nick, you became such a good friend and partner. Amanda, I cannot describe how much I love you. Then Charlotte Jean, she won't remember a speech but I pray she remembers how much I love her and care for her no matter what," Olivia breathed as grew choked up. She blinked away tears as she slowly sank down beside her girlfriend.

Nick and Fin opened their gifts while Amanda watched closely. She smiled when they each pulled out watches. Olivia hadn't spent thousands of dollars on them, but they were incredibly sentimental with their names and badge numbers etched into the back.

Amanda opened her own gift slowly and spun to look at Olivia with wide eyes.

"Did you get a watch? We can all match," Nick laughed as he secured his watch around his wrist.

"N-no... Olivia, is this what I think it is?" Amanda whispered.

"What do you think it is?" Olivia replied, as she reached out and gently brushed a few blonde curls from Amanda's neck.

Amanda looked down at the round-cut diamond that was set on a thin silver band. On either side of the diamond were two small blue topaz stones for Charlotte's birthstone. She could barely believe what was happening, especially since there had been zero talk about getting engaged.

"Are you proposing to me?" Amanda whispered, and Olivia nodded.

"Yes, I am. Amanda Louise Rollins, would you do me the honor of marrying me?" Olivia asked, as she slowly slid her chair back and moved to get on one knee. Amanda stopped her as she stood on shaky legs.

"Are you sure that you want to marry me? I could fuck up really bad and-"

"For better or for worse, Mandy. I'll stand by your side through anything and everything. I have never loved someone how I love you, and the one thing I feel certain about is the love I have for you. There have been issues, but nothing we haven't been able to work through," Olivia breathed. Amanda looked back at the ring before glancing at her friends.

"If that ring isn't convincing enough, just think about how beautiful you'll both look in white," Nick smiled. Amanda let out a small laugh before looking back at her girlfriend.

"If you need time to figure things out, just ask. I'll even sleep on the couch to give you additional space... Just say the word and-"

"Yes," Amanda spoke, as she reached out and gently caressed her girlfriend's freckled cheeks.

"Yes to space?" Olivia breathed, her fear starting to get to her. She was worried that this proposal would be the end of all they had cultivated together. The relationship and roles as Charlotte's mothers.

"Yes, to marrying you. I'd love to be your wife," Amanda replied. She leaned in quickly and pressed a firm kiss to Olivia's lips before hugging her tightly.

Olivia padded from her bedroom and walked a few steps down the hall to where Amanda had disappeared about an hour ago.

"Babe?" Olivia asked, as she slowly opened the door. Amanda looked up from where she was rocking their daughter.

"I've been missing for a while, huh?" Amanda asked tiredly.

"About an hour. Is everything okay?"

"We're engaged," Amanda whispered.

"We are. Are you having second thoughts?"

"No! It's just crazy to think that someone loves me enough to want to spend the rest of their life with me," Amanda replied.

"You are incredibly special, Mandy. Smart, funny, beautiful, and that southern drawl gets me every time," Olivia smiled.

"Everyone told me I wouldn't amount to anything, but look where I am now. A fiancee, a mother, and I'll be a detective again in the future. None of this was supposed to happen, but I think the one decision I made to move to New York City was what changed my path forever. It led me right to you," Amanda breathed. Olivia walked over and kissed the top of Amanda's head before caressing her cheek.

"I'm so lucky to be the one that you'll settle down with. Now, can I escort you and Charlie to bed? I'd love to snuggle with you for a while," Olivia whispered. Amanda nodded as she passed the baby to Olivia before standing. They shared a few kisses before wandering to their bedroom to sleep beside each other for the first time as an engaged couple.
