Prom Disaster Pt 5

Cole and Jay waited until no teachers were around, and then slipped out of the janitor's closet. "Well, see you around." Jay said

"See ya." Cole responded.

He walked down the hallway to his next class - science. Nya was also heading there. They ran into each other. "Did you ask him?" she immediately said.

"Yeah. He's pissed at Kai. I don't think he was going to ask you but now he is."

"Oh my god thank you Cole." she said.

"It wasn't that hard. And now we're, like, friends?" 

"Are you two just going to stand outside talking or get to class?" Mr. Larker shouted in their faces. 

They quickly darted into their seats. "I'll talk to you on the way home." Nya whispered to him.

Cole met with Kai and Nya on the steps outside the school. "Cole! Finally! Where were you?"

"What do you mean? I just got out of detention."

Kai facepalmed. "Cole, you could have told us." 

"You know I have detention every day except Thursday."

"What did you do this time?" Kai said with a sigh. 

"I punched Tyler in the face. It wasn't that hard, I swear. But he had a bloody nose and went crying to his mommy who came and yelled at me a bunch. "

"And you only get one day of detention for that?" Kai asked.

"3 days. I convinced the principal not to give me a referral, because its just a damn bloody nose."

"Well I guess you'll ruin your streak of not having detention of Thursdays."

"I still won't have it on Thursdays."

"Why not?"

"That's the day I go to Ms. Tracey."

"Oh." Kai said, surprised. 

There was an awkward silence and then Nya cut it. "NO, we are NOT talking about that. Cole, your hard work paid off. He asked me!!"

"Actually?" Cole said. 

"Yeah, actually. All set for Friday. And you two?"

"Yup, we're good." Kai said, answering for both of them. 

"Does Lloyd have a date?" Kai asked.

"Maybe? I think he wanted to ask Marli but I don't know how things went."

"Oh, him and Marli would be such a good couple." Kai said. 

"Wait, isn't Lloyd in the middle school? Eight grade?" Cole asked.

"Yeah but they have a dance this Friday as well." Nya said.

"Oh my god remember how bad middle school dances were?" Cole said.

"Yes! Toby asked me out and I pushed him down and his glasses got stepped on! I was in soooo much trouble for that." Nya said, remembering.

"And Ella wanted to dance with me and I said no so her huge posse followed me around yelling at me." Kai added.

"And how Alex pretended he was had edibles just to get 20 bucks from Ash?" Cole said.

"Oh my god that was a nightmare. When all the teachers got involved?" Nya responded. 

"I hope Lloyd has a better time in middle school than we did." Cole sighed.

"He says its fine, so I'm guessing its not fine." Kai replied.
