i can't tell you how many times i've watched these episodes with this playing in my head instead of what really happened. so, finally, i'm sharing the rewrite i've been working on in my head forever since season 10 was released.

i've worked so hard on this and it's taken me the past 5 months of nonstop work to get this thing published so please just accept it the way it is. because lets face it - im never going to edit or rewrite this ever again. heck, i'd be surprised if i even posted another rewrite because this thing has been a pain in my ass since day 1. altho i have enjoyed sharing, u know, everything that's been in my head for the past  4 years, my younger self would've never dreamed i would've gotten the chance to do this, i can't lie. i've felt like a slacker ever since i started writing this 5 months ago and still haven't gotten it published. i'm under a lot of stress rn with every thing that's happening in my life so i'm doing my best, but i will keep trying (because ninja never quit, obvs) and keep going :)

nah ty for reading me rant abt nothing before u even read the story. luv u guys and thank u so much for reading this, it means alot to me <333

"Cole!" Jay's voice was the last he heard, moments after the weightless feeling started.

He opened his mouth to scream, but no sound came out. He felt himself plummeting down, but in slow motion. The last thing he saw was Zane's face, distraught. Jay's, shouting for him to somehow float back up and grab back onto the ladder. Nya's, mouth open. Kai, who had been in the middle of talking to someone, mouth ajar as they watched. Those people they came here to save, jaws dropped. All of the news crew and finally, stupid Gayle Gossip, whose last words to him were "You should know, you just ruined a heck of a broadcast."

That was all he saw before his vision was clouded with black. The black quickly shifted though, into a deep purple. Purple? A...cloud.

Oh shit.

Reality caught up to him. He just fell off the bounty and into the dark cloud. As soon as he plunged into it, he could feel his body starting to slow down. He looked at his hands and they were turning into stone.

No no no no no no. Oh God.

He crashed through floor after floor of the news building. When he finally stopped moving downwards, landing gracefully on the ground floor, he knew that if he didn't move, he'd be dead. He'd probably die anyway, but a strange sense of survival took over him. He got up and moved as fast as his legs would let him, which wasn't fast since his arms and upper body were already stone.

He stumbled out the door and that was as far as he got. Why did he choose the door, that's a good question. Maybe he thought that someone would be waiting there for him, to save him from this nightmare. Maybe, just maybe, he thought that he wouldn't be turned to stone and they could go finish saving Ninjago. But when his legs wouldn't move anymore, all he could do was watch and think his final thoughts before his head was frozen, too.

With an arm out, hand reaching, mouth open, he waited for someone to come and grab his hand and take him to safety.

Kai, where are you? I need to tell you something. I...love...y-

He would never get to finish that thought.

"Cole!" Jay's voice was the last he heard, moments before time stopped. Cole slowly drifted downward, or was he going fast? He couldn't tell. He went deaf, and all he could do was watch as Cole disappeared into the dark cloud. Then he felt the ship moving.

What?

Where are we going?

We can't leave him!
