"A girl?" Mom asked, still looking into my face. "Yes mom, a girl." I said again and smiled again. "You like her?" Of course I like her mom. In fact, I love her. I know we've not met for much but she's someone you'll easily fall in love with. "Yes mom. I do. I like her." Mom nodded then took out her phone and scrolled through it for a while. Then she showed it to my face. It was the news from last time when I was at the graduation.
I nodded. "Yes mom. She the girl. Her name is Lilly and she the youngest sister of Kelvin Wigglesworth." She nodded and took my hands in his. "Ivan, like and marry the person you love. Don't agree with this thing they are calling an agreement. I wouldn't want you to fall a victim." You know what? That was all the motivation I needed from someone I love. My mom.
I nodded immediately. As if I wanted to marry to marry Faye. The thought of it even makes me sick. I sent mom to her room to catch some sleep. She insisted to stay awake for a while but me being me, I told her she needs to sleep and rest. After I made sure everyone was asleep, I went over to the penthouse's balcony. Just like how I expected, it was quiet and looked so peaceful. The moonlight shines beautifully on the glass windows and doors, giving it the perfect diamond like reflection.
I walked slowly to edge of the balcony to look over the city. Few buildings down lite up as few people were walking pass it. It was almost 3am. I looked up at the sky. The beautiful sky. It has always been my favorite view ever since I was a kid. The starts filled up the sky. Some were in alignment with the moon while others were in alignment with other stars. I closed my eyes to breath in the beauty of nature. No wonder Lily likes nature. Nature is beautiful.
It didn't take long before I felt some few droplets of water on my face. It was raining. How long have I closed my eyes? I saw stars in the sky not long ago. The sky became cloudy as few more rain dropped on my face. I hurried inside not wanting to get drenched. I sat near the window just to see the droplets of water roll down the glass. It didn't take long before it started raining heavily. The room was getting cold since we were not the top floor I had to switch off the AC in each room.
Getting into my room, I changed into a pajamas and crawled onto the bed. Gosh, the bed itself felt cold and comfortable. Just perfect. A good night sleep it'll be then.
###################I finished signing some papers as I handed them over to Lucy. "Sir, your visit to the orphanage is next week. Just a reminder." She gave me a soft bow and exited the room. I stood, took my glass of coffee and headed over the window. Today has been stressful. And I didn't even get enough sleep. You know what? No mater how much work load is on you, never miss at least 7 hours of sleep. It really helps. I'm all tired because I didn't get enough sleep.,
I left Mom with Raymond this morning. He had nothing doing so of course he'll have to be by mom. Ray gives good company so I'm sure mom will be perfectly fine with him around. I took a sip of my coffee looking down on the busy street. I couldn't even get the chance to call Lilly today. I'll have to visit her after all. I've missed her.
Lilly's p.o.v.It was almost 5pm. You know why am worried? I've not heard from him and I am very much aware you know exactly who I'm talking about. Ivan. I've not heard from him since last night when he came over. He usually calls or passes here before getting to his work place. But not today. No calls and no visits. I'm starting to worry. What if something bad has happened to him? What if he got an accident on his way home from here. I know I shouldn't be thinking negative but I can't hold myself.
I paced around my room with my phone in my hand, checking the time ever minute and praying to get a call or text from him. But no, nothing showed up. Maddie and Violet have gone to their work places. They are probably on their way back. I'm the only one at home. Brother in law made me take some time off before getting a job. I had one month to rest.
