Joshua:
It's okay! 🙂I took off the first book of the series he gifted me and started turning the pages until the first chapter unfolds. As I dive into the first chapter, I'm struck by the familiar scent of the pages and the weight of the book in my hands.
The words begin to transport me to a world of wonder and magic, and I feel a sense of excitement and curiosity. The characters and their struggles resonate with me, and I find myself becoming invested in their stories.
I kept reading the book, completely absorbed in the story, when my mobile pinged with another message. I groaned, not wanting to be interrupted, but my curiosity got the better of me. I put the book down and picked up my phone, and my eyes widened as I read the message from the student travel group.
They were planning a trip to Hawaii! I couldn't believe it. Hawaii had been on my bucket list for as long as I could remember. I had always dreamed of visiting the beautiful beaches, lush greenery, and active volcanoes.
I quickly opened the link to the website and scanned the details. The trip was scheduled to depart in just 10 days, and it included hotel, food, and travel expenses. I couldn't wait to sign up!
But first, I needed to ask my dad for permission. I knew he wouldn't say no, but I still felt a little nervous as I rushed to his study.
"Dad, can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked, trying to sound calm.
"Of course, sweetie. What's up?" he replied, looking up from his work.
"The student travel group is planning a trip to Hawaii, and I really want to go. It's been my dream destination for ages. Can I please go?" I asked, trying to contain my excitement.
My dad smiled and nodded. "Of course, you can go. I know how much you've always wanted to visit Hawaii. Just make sure you take care of yourself and stay safe."
I squealed with delight and hugged my dad tightly. "Thank you so much! I promise I'll be careful and responsible."
With my dad's permission, I quickly signed up for the trip and paid the fees. I couldn't wait to embark on this amazing adventure with my friends!
"Are you coming to Hawaii, Eva?" Rue asks, her voice bursting with excitement.
"Of course, it's been my dream for a long time to visit Hawaii," I reply, rummaging through my closet in search of the perfect accessories to pack for our tropical adventure.
Rue grins mischievously. "Well, I've already been to Hawaii, but I'd get bored if I didn't come with you guys. I'm only coming for you," she says, her eyes sparkling with playful teasing.
I raise an eyebrow, intrigued. "Only for me?" I ask, my curiosity piqued.
Rue chuckles, her cheeks flushing slightly. "Fine, for you and Mark," she admits, her voice barely above a whisper.
